Are there other chicas out there who are as TURNED OFF as I am to see guys in their 40's and up shirtless on here?  I mean comeon  .. you gotta know when you're HOT and when you're NOT ..  i'm turned off by guys in their 20's too, good bodies or not. i don't mind the odd photo shot at the pool or the beach but the posing semi-nude makes as green as those smilies up there. Exactly .. |

Women complain about topless men. However, men without shirts get more replies to their messages as well as more first contacts from women than men with shirts do. Here's a quote from a study on the subject done by another dating site:
The male “Ab Shot” has the same reputation as the MySpace Shot—it’s an Internet cliché that supposedly everyone thinks is only for bozos. To wit: a journalist was visiting our office recently, and when we told her we were researching user photos, the first thing she said was “please tell me people hate it when guys show off their abs.” We hadn’t finished running the numbers yet, so we confidently reassured her that people did. The data contradicted us. Of course, there is some self-selection here: the guys showing off their abs are the ones with abs worth showing, and naturally the best bodies get lots of messages. So we can’t recommend this photo tactic to every man. But, contrary to everything you read about profile pictures, if you’re a guy with a nice body, it’s actually better to take off your shirt than to leave it on. We would never suggest to a Fitzgerald or a Dave Eggers to limit his profile to 100 words, and so why should guys with great bodies keep their best asset under wraps? If anyone is interested in reading the rest of the study send me a message and I'll be happy to give you a link. But, sense it's on another dating site I feel it's inapproprate to post the link here. It may upset the powers that be. |

I love it best if I can see the toilet, and what kind of towels they use in the shower. For goodness sake, it's hysterical to me that people actually think those kind of pics are useful. It says to me you have no friends/family to take ONE good picture of you???? Not one?   puhleeeeeeeeeze. but the quote proves MY point of THIS thread .. Well, we live in a world that is very appearance conscience so a lot of people think half naked works...and honestly, a lot of people respond to people who "look good." Society,magazines, t'v., etc. tell us what's attractive.
Personally, I think that everyone is beautiful. Maybe other people are blind to their particular kind of beauty. It's good to be comfortable in your own skin--regardless of what others think. And who knows...maybe these shirtless older men are looking for someone that wouldn't judge them by appearance, and see the sensitive, wise soul behind the physical. who knows?? Maybe they are trying to weed out those who can't see beyond.... We clothe our bodies as we clothe our souls hiding what we possess as if it's some deep, dark, dirty secret to be human No human body is perfect...it's good that they can be comfortable in their skin. |

When people share pictures, they share part of their personality. Different sides. Sometimes it gives someone a better 'picture' (pun intended) of them
