Ok......so here's the story. I have this friend....from back a few years ago when I was still going to college. Met her through a friend of a friend at the time guess you could say.

We really didn't talk much for a long time though till recently when she left a message on a facebook status of mine, just at random. It surprised me but in a good way. Kinda wanted to ask her to hang out then, as I hadn't seen her in so long, and I don't get out a lot as it is, but I didn't.

I finally talked to her for the first time at length in a while this evening, at first with the intention of seeing if she was available to go to this festival in town I wanted to check out before the weekend was over. We ended up talking about a lot more, about many different topics, ones particularly important to me, and she really understood and listened to me through it all. It made me wonder a bit if there is something there possibly with us.

She left soon after that to go to a concert in the park, I really wanted to ask her if she'd take me with her, as I wanted to get out of the house and had not much else to do, but...I couldn't get the courage to not wanting to impose, and also I was hungry lol. Was kinda kicking myself for it later though, and still want to do something with her soon to see her again.

Here's the thing.....she's 33 and I'm just turning 23 in November. Age of course is but a number I suppose, but I wonder if she'd even want to date a guy 10 years younger if things progressed to such a point.

All this is rather nervewracking really, haven't dated in real life in 5 years, haven't had but one girlfriend, and can be a bit shy in real life, don't go out a lot and don't have many people to do things with. It's all kinda new again right now, and there's a bit of fear there about getting close to someone again, and not having it go bad for any number of reasons. Just a lot of thoughts, on top of the age thing.

Anyway, would you date someone 10 years younger then you are?

...at my age no problem dating younger men...cuz I been there and done that...go for what youuuuuuuuu feel and want...cuz that is what counts!

I guess the bottom line is...depends on the person.

I have dated older men with the emotional maturity of a 12 year old. My best friend is dating a 22 year old, I would easily consider a man by comparison to the 30 year old boys I see running around.

Yes, recently I've been dating someone fourteen years younger than me, and in the past (a while back) I have dated someone twenty years older.

Oh Great now we are all turning into men.. I am 42 so must almost have lost all my femininity by now,

On the contrary, there are many women in whom, as they age, femininity blooms.

There seems to be a lot of gender confusion going on in the good ol' USA. Many Women act too hard to avoid appearing week and many men act too soft to avoid appearing macho. The result is women that just seem angry and men that are emotional wimps.

As long as the other person is able to understand us there is nothing more than that. I will date to women older than me too.
Life is short.......whats more ... just enjoy being yourself.

If two people connect, age dosen't matter.
Life is short so don't waste it worrying about what other people may think.

Damn. That didn't last long. Younger people can be so impatient.

I frequently date younger. It's rare to find anyone you connect with at all. I'm not about to put an age barrier into the mix. I don't worry if I'm too old, because if they weren't interested, they wouldn't have pursued me in the first place.

thirty and up,,,college aged or younger has VERY LITTLE chance of having much in common with my life and interests and responsibilities,,,
