I was just doing some reading about the most common lies people tell in their online dating profiles. It seems we're all about two inches shorter than we say, make about 20% less money and 77% of people claming to be bi-sexual message only one gender. Also, the better a person looks in their pics, they older the pic is likely to be.

I haven't lied about any of those things in my profile. I'm the height I say I am. I have several recent pictures ranging from face pictures to full body pictures so there is no question about what I look like. I never bring up how much I make, though, as I don't see a point in doing that in the beginning.

I agree about the older picture. I've met guys whose pictures had to be 10-20 years old. On another site I label mine with the date, so there isn't any confusion.

Met someone last night that said he was 5"9". I'm 5'4" and had on heels and was pretty much the same height as him...and trust me I wasn't wearing 5" heels.

I've maybe lied about how much time I work out. Let's just say I don't update the frequency if I've been slacking for a month or so.

hah. I'm 5'4 and I met someone probably a month ago who said he was 5'6. He was actually shorter than me. While I don't get lying about height to begin with, why lie about it when you're shorter than the person you're meeting?!

My pics are current and havent lied about my weight once. Sometimes I think I lie to myself though, i think I want one thing but then get all lonely and crap and realize I probably wanted something more. But it usually fades off. haha

I'll admit that some of my pics are a few years old. I think the oldest is about 4 years old. But, I also have at least one new pic and I update often.

I'm truthful about my hight as well. At least as much as I can be. It's been a while sense a doctor took a measurement.

My income is crap. I work a minimum wage job.

I'm 5'10 and find guys do lie about their height quite often. Maybe because I am so tall, i dont know. Im kind of picky on height. On my other site for singleparents-i have on my profile, Under 6 ft need not apply. But i have dated some 5'7'ers, I just have to make sure and wear flats that day, haha

Something else interesting in what I was reading is that taller people (men and women) have more sex than shorter people. According to this research, taller women have fewer oppertunities than shorter women, but still have more sexaul partners.

Nothing on my profile is a lie...oh wait...not true! I just realized that as of Sept. 1, my baby girl is now a 9 year old Peek-a-poo!!! Better get that fixed ASAP!

Never understood the point to lying? Who can possibly keep up with it after a while? Better to just lay the truth out there and be done with it!!! Lying causes too much D-R-A-M-A!!!

Of course, my bff would claim I was lying on my height and that I am really only 5'3 1/2" so that it makes me shorter than her but it's actually 5'3 3/4" so I round up! Hey...it's allowed!!!

I don't feel the need to lie about anything. There is no point in it. Cause' if you really were to meet someone they would know that you were lying.

I only lie about my penis. I tell em its 2” shorter then it really is.

I don't match any of that. Life is to short for the dating lies. I'm at the age where I can't be bothered to be "what he wants me to be until I get him hooked"....what you see is what you get, take it or leave it.....lol

I lie about my income...I say it's significantly less to avoid the golddiggers...
