Taken, with Liam Neeson and the Changeling with Angelina Jolie. Both were old, but good

Those are old?

Jerome Bixby's Man from Earth! Really good, low-key but intense.

Not to be confused with the early 80's schlock slasher classic of the same name...

Horrible. I knew it was a slasher musical going in, but there was so many songs that it was obvious they were just padding the film out.

I have to say as much of a horror fan as I am, Chernobyl Diaries has zero appeal to me...and not just because it's hard for me to take a horror film written by Dick Van Dyke's grand kids seriously, especially given the fact that Shane Van Dyke is responsible for some of the worst films around- Titanic 2, Paranormal Entity, The Day the Earth Stopped.

I saw John Carter, well I saw half of it and the other watched me sleeping on the couch. How did it end? True to the books?

Haven't seen it yet, but I read Seth Grahame-Smith's book which it's based on. Fun read. He also wrote Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

I'll have to check that book out,I always did like reading the books, they are sometimes better then the movies. I was kind of thinking about seeing the movie, but I wanted to see what other people thought first, because I'm kind of hesitant about it.

I am going to try to go tonight and see it, but honestly the book was pretty fun, and I expect the movie to really follow suit. A lot of people are going to go expecting some sort of incredible life changing plot or looking for some sort of historical context, and then say the movie sucks because they set such a lofty goal for it. But if they just go with the intention of seeing a funny vampire killing film that happens to involve our 16th President they will walk out with a much better experience.

If people are going to a movie titled Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter expecting historical context, they need to start wearing ear plugs to keep the rest of their brains from leaking out.

But you know, there are people who do it. You'll find gobs of them writing reviews the week after it is released criticizing it for those exact issues. It blows my mind how many people do it when going to see a film obviously only made to entertain you for and hour and a half plus.

Well, as long as they don't sparkle or glitter, I think they will be fine. bigsmile
