Your friend is very generous hearted. I work with a girl who's hair grows very fast. She doesn't process it at all ( no coloring or perming). she donates her hair at least once a year. If my hair grew that fast, I may consider it too. Its such a great cause.

my daughter convinced my younger granddaughter
whos 5yrs old to cut her hair as it would be donated to locks of love
i have to admite my granddaughter looked better with long hair but my daughter didnt want to mess working with it in the morning or after she had her shower

when my older nephew was little he had this older lady as his babysitter and she had long hair way past her legs i would say almost to the ground
she had really pretty hair
and yrs later she got tired of dealing with it and ask one of her daughters to cut her hair..
omg she looked so differnt with short hair but she seem happier and no more headaches

I have had long hair for a while, but last year a friend of mine was going to do the Locks of Love and I started to look into it. It sounds like a good program so I started to let mine grow while I am doing the college thing, this is my last semester and it is right at a 10" pony tail (thick from the hair in front also, not just the back). So I am planning on doing this also. I might miss my hair for a while but it will grow back and hopefully make someone else who really misses their hair a little happier...

I've done this a few times. My problem is waiting for my hair to get to the 10 inch mark. I usually get annoyed with it before it gets anywhere near that (especially in the California summers now!) and chop it off.
I'm working on letting it grow out again. We shall see if I make to to 10 inches this time or not.
