whats your opinion on the death penalty?

The death penalty shows proof a dumber human race than we should have been by now.

Antiquated barbarism of neandrathal quality.

i have to disagree, i believe in survival of the fittest, natural selection... if your dumb enough to do something that warrants the death penalty, then they deserve what they get. An eye for an eye law is not all bad... the muslims actually have a good philosophy there.

It shows ignorance to believe that retribution can be achieved by brutality for brutality.

I and others are waiting patiently for some humans to outgrow their neandrathalic tendencies.

I agree.
A friend of mine was just convicted of murdering his wife.
He stabbed her some 20 odd times with a fish fillet knife.
Let's get all our Liberal friends to protest his incarceration and possible death penalty.

would the relatives also pay the salaries that prison employees earn? or construction workers who build prison, or the 'due process' that each citizen is afforded for it to be 'proven' they actually murdered someone in the first place?

, why not adopt muslim law and cut of the hands of thieves as well? or castrate rapists?

as a rape survivor, Its not the type of society Id want to live in

/me strongly supports that... A nation has certain reasons for existance. One of them is to protect the community from harm by giving away certain personal rights and powers to the instruments of this nation, trusting it to weld them wisely and humane in the individual's stead. That means that the state also has to pay for the cost of this exercise of power - and part of that is the upkeep of prisoners. A death sentence, founded on the cost of upkeep of prisoners?? C'mon, what's next? Charging the family the cost of the bullet, like they do in China? Making shoplifters pay their time in prison?

One of the most misunderstood (i hope) or most dangerous (I fear) phrases I know is "Right or wrong, my Country". Maybe you should put that "Right or wrong, my Countryman!"

I am all for the deathly penalty.

Under one condition only, though.

The prisoner (or not prisoner) agrees to it.

I mean this. If a prisoner is guilty beyond any doubt, not just reasonable one, he should let to continue living, UNLESS he agrees to his own execution.

Once we got that, then we can in five years promote legistlation for euthanasia, rather successfully I assume.

Then in a few months, we can argue how unborn babies, although not criminally guilty, are still of the original sin, so they are guilty, and their guardians can decide for the fetus wheather to live or die.

Rape is a horrible crime, it demoralizes a person's most important asset, the ability to love.

But a penalty must be equally punishing, otherwise gender inequality exists. Which is the case, since female rapists (such as statutory female rapers, or incestuous female rapers) have no balls to cut off.

So while I agree to do a drastic bodily change which would disable men of further sexually gratifying activity, I suggest that castration is not a viable alternative.

How about instead: sewing together, with no anesthesia, the cheeks of the buttocks, so no more clapping can be observed when the felon skips rope.

Or giving them a nipple ring that has a diameter of the average adult hoola-hoop.

I don't know. But I know if women support gender inequality in the criminal behaviour-modificational and correctional systems, then they are endangering their chances of gender equality in other systems, such as higher education and employment. No more female stone-quarry workers, baby, no more mortar-mixing operators, no more heavy machinery lifters and no more female British royal aristocracy for hot welders, ladies.

So please do be careful what you ask, lest it be granted.
