That was actually well stated Wux.

I think everyone made thier point and ya capped it nicely.

Now....back on topic....

"I like my women just a little on the trashy side"

Oh God! I miss the 80's. Big hair, camel toe pants, too much make up, dozens of swatch watches, side ways pony tails and leotards with leg warmers.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I have been known to wear leotards with leg warmers well into decade 2010....but I think it's great to borrow fashion ideas from whenever....I love stuff from the 50s too

so to me fashion means discovering what works for u and sticking to it

wear a swatch watch - if u can find onelaugh

I don;t do the sideways ponytail thing any more simply because I do not think it suits a woman my age

I have never even dated a woman who wore make-up. I am allergic to aromatic hydrocarbons. Most people get high off of them, I get dysphoria. My blood pressure starts to invert, well, not good.

I broke protocol once, and that was today. But it was not the make-up, but the eyes.

Most women I know wear at least a little makeup. Many times, I bet a guy can't even tell.

I think you hit it right Harmony.

What YOU feel is appropriate...I do the same thing and I hold every one to my standard. It is what it is.

Quite often...looking presentable is exactly the same thing as looking good.

Me,,blushing well,,,
I wear a big tupee, take my teeth out everyday,
Place a ball of socks, in my underwear,
So I LOOK very LARGE DOWN-THERE.
Wear six inch heels on my Cowboy Boots,
So I LOOK taller than my real roots.
My right eyes, perfectly good cut-glass.
I bought me the BEST MAN'S SOFT RUBBER CHEEKED ASSSS.
I use my Friend Vinny,to talk to chicks on the phone,
His voice is deep and sexy, and no-one knows, I'M JUST Sooo- WRONG!.
I hired three nerds to think for me, most of my words here,
come from one of them, all three are writing this for me.
YOU may think I really STINK, but THAT gets me, all the pink.
FAKE IS GREAT, LIES ARE SO COOL, THIS DUDE HERE, AIN'T NOBODY'S FOOL

Oh,,WAIT!!!!surprised THIS is New Year's Day,,,,shocked
NOT APRIL FOOLS DAY,,,,,,,,,,blushing s-o-r-r-y.....laugh

I think everyone has grooming rituals of some sort. My sister spends in a month what I spend in a couple years though guys often prefer my un-made up look to hers. My hair dye is medium brown brown from the dollar store and I only touch up my roots. My natural hair color is actually closer to dark blonde and that shocks a lot of people. I very much have things that are important to me. Shaving, being soft and smelling good round out the top three. And it's not just for guys I do that. I find as a woman that is esthetically pleasing TO ME. Not to be hairy, to have soft skin, and smell good makes me happy. I am also big on lip gloss and having soft young looking lips and fresh looking skin. I could give a cr*p about make up with rubs off and smears and stuff. I hate hair spray. I like touchable hair. I get annoyed by plastic looking people. I was at a funeral once with some model friends of mine wearing photography make up which is water proof and they were crying and it actually bugged me that their MASCARA WAS NOT RUNNING at a funeral. I had a therapist once with tons of make up, very fake hair that did not move, and fake nails. Fake fake fake fake. And I wondered why I should be listening to this chick who was so insecure she had to hide behind all that.

I agree with the presentable concept.

What I wear on my own teritory is very different from what I wear in someone elses.

Haveing been to court many times with clients it is important to present in a professional and respectful manner. That is usually more about Clean, covered, and organized but as much as I hate pantyhose and heels I know if the judge has to wear them so do I.

I have found that while some people know the real from the fake most people that are into a certain appearance don't care how it is obtained or if it is natural. I just don't want to be a persona in my personal life.

I get my hair cut real short so I don't have to comb it. I try to shave at least every fourth day.

I am not advocating that anybody give up ANYTHING.

If you desire make up to get you through the day, if that makes you happy and fulfills some basic need you have, more power to you. Totally. If you bleach your hair, wear a wonderbra, and spanxs and that somehow makes it so you can go through life. I am glad they exist.

But every industry fulfills a need and a niche.

Like where would be without liquor stores and 7-11??

How many people do you know need cigarettes, alcohol to some degree, lotto tickets or junk food for whatever reason??

Heck, probably most everyone on here partakes in one of those things. Me, I love junk food. The girl with As in nutrition and human biology and knows better loves junk food. Just like those who like to drink, smoke and gamble know it's not the best thing.

Even drug dealers to some extent serve a purpose and no, I am not advocating drug use. But how many people if you are honest do you know who smoke a blunt after work or whatever?

And like Mc Donald's, ya we know know that's not the greatest. We have all seen Supersize Me. I love freaking Chicken Mc Nuggets with BBQ sauce like every toddler in North America. I admit it.

You just have to realize that you are being marketed to to whatever degree.

If you work in corporate America, you know this. They even push certain anti-depressants over others in magazines.

Our society as certain norms and things because of this marketing. We all accept that. But we need to recognize that's part of our culture. It's not a hard and fast rule.

So I say whatever gets you though the day in the looks department or anything else, as long as you are not hurting anybody, you do that.

I do not fuss with my hair at all. I'm blessed with striaght soft hair so no need for any products. I do wear make up(cover-up, powder, eyeliner, and mascara) but only when I'm going out or having somebody new come over(if I'm used to you I do not care what I look like around you). Beauty isn't everything but it helps alot. Gives a good first impression.

And I think you look very nicely presented which is the intended effect. If you came in for a job interview and I needed someone who was going to interface with clients, your appearance if the personality also fit would put you ahead of others.

I do change my appearance very much when I do have to represent my boss in another company which does shock people. But I go very old school. I usually wear a dress with pantyhose and dress shoes, very little make up but some, I cover my tattoos, I wear minimal jewelry and put my hair up. I do this even if I am going to be crawling under a desk connecting cables.

My tombstone will say, "here lies a guy who was good at capping."

Prosperity will stroll by and some will ask, "whas he a dentist, or a mad hatter?"
