I believe for some people, including myself coloring hair and experimenting with makeup actually becomes a hobby instead of some vanity ritual. Not, that I am one to judge anyone on what makes them happy.
It's just I've personally been pegged on several occasions of being high-maintenance when in all reality I'm not at all.
I've also been known to sit at home and put on makeup just to play around, and not be around another single soul.
But, I can say this. I also go without makeup as well, and I've never had anyone say "oh you should put makeup on.." It's usually quite the opposite. It's just it's what makes ME happy.

Well... just as long as you are happy.

I am happiest when I write a good text. Essay, short story, whatever. It makes me happy. A deep, not exuberant, but deep good feeling. It lasts a few days, and it gets stronger each time in the first two days when I re-read the script for errors. I also feel a tad better when I think about it in my spare time.

I think we are all different. But please don't quote me on that.

I like women with make up. I also like women without make up. I also like women half-and-half. I like women, period.

It's about time some of you ladies and girls liked me back. I mean, liked me back all the way.

Dye your hair? Wear makeup? or do anything to "enhance" your looks?

Nope. I am slowly going bald and live with it. Besides, rogaine doesn't work on temple area...

Simplicity is relative.

To me I'm a fairly simple person. To some other people, they think the opposite.

Makeup n dying your hair makes me sick. Women worries too much about their looks that it becomes their hobby. They wont step outta the house without makeup. Sheeesh I went to grocery store in boxers this morning. And i dont care what others think.

I'm pretty sure it becoming a hobby, on many different occasions has nothing to do with being seen without makeup.
I go out without makeup.
It has nothing to do with the fact, I sometimes stay in and play with makeup and no one see's me. It becomes more of an artsy thing, then something that is aesthetic based.

..thus the difference between male and female.

Well, before I get chomped on.. MOST men and MOST females.

Only time I put on make-up; its face paint for a PSU home game. :D

I'm pretty sure that's just common courtesy.

Yep. On the transit today I literally saw a face dipped in paint. Sheeps. Glitter/sparkles/shallow/eye liner everywhere it was like I was looking at a showgirl or something. I'm not really fan of going out in public dressed like Halloween every morning. I'm way too introverted to pull that shizmic off

Well, I don't use any..

I do love the natural look on a woman.
Of course, I only know what all natural truly is until the next morning. :O

But if you do wear make-up, I love not being able to tell.
If your face is lit up like the kids that just chalked up the sidewalk did your face too..

Keep on walking...

I think if it makes you happy, by all means you should continue it. Everyone has their own personal beliefs about what makes them look good to those around them. In some cases it is unfounded and probably rooted in insecurities, but that is just my personal opinion and really has no place either here or there. I am more of a fan of just being yourself and not worrying about what anyone else thinks, and if that includes make-up, piercings, tattoos or whatever, so be it. In the end it is what makes you who you are, and really that is all anyone should ever be asking for.

Or course I do feel personal hygiene is important so can be bothered by those who take no real stock in that and let it wash over into their appearance.

My current enhancement is a perm. It's made me feel a lot better about myself. I do have another major enhancement in the works to replace a lost body part. I haven't worn any form of makeup for years because as a teenager it played hell with my acne. At this point, I don't believe there's anything out there that could help me, other than a major facelift. Which believe me, I have thought about, but luckily the price pretty much puts the kibosh on that. If I'd known that spending every possible moment outdoors all my life would do this to my face, I would have been much more serious about the sunblock.
