So can a male explain to me why, after having very good conversations with a couple guys, they just up and stop talking to me? We talk a bunch on here, exchange numbers, talk and text all the time, talk about plans to meet, then all of a sudden just quit talkin to me? I don't understand. If the conversations weren't going well, that's one thing, but they always seemed to be going very well to me, then poof! No more conversations.

any insight?

they either moved on to someone else, died, have a wife or girlfriend that caught him or they were abducted by aliens and didn't want to comeback to earth cause they enjoyed the probing.

Well, can't say for certain... and I certainly don't want to make any false judgements... but maybe they are not as serious as you first thought they were. I know in the past I can be talking to someone, and suddenly they stop speaking.. no explanation given, no excuses.... and in all fairness I suppose they have that right. Although it always left me boggled as to why they did that.

A lot of people lie to play games, and dating sites attract that unfortunately. There is a thread here somewhere about people and how serious they are when it comes to online relationships, and frankly a lot of people still separate the two. So it may be nothing to do with you.. and just they did not want to take it any further. Still I like to think they would have said something instead of just leaving you hanging.

I'll put my money on the aliens. They're really out there ya know and they like our probing regions.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.
A loss that is unknown is no loss at all.
If they don't give you a reason why they stop talking to you then they they aren't worth fretting over.
They do it because they can, plain and simple.

OP may wanna take a look at the source & type and make some changes...hey not being judgemental here - a periodic re-evalution is a good habit IMO:wink:

I think you're pretty safe in assuming that anyone who does this was never really all that interested in the first place.

There are people of both genders who seem to thrive on the concept of collecting attention from as many people as possible, and not necessarily with the intention of pursuing it to any great degree, but just because they like attention.

Most likely, the sudden stoppage of communication has nothing to do with you at all -- it's more reasonable to assume that they felt the need to jack up their numbers a little more and move on....

I agree with you all the way on this one Lex,the sad thing is there is a lot of people who will never even leave the site in fear of losing all the attention they recieve here.Even if it ment having the perfect person in there lives they wont make that trade, its kind of sad really.

He's not that interested. Most likely because he met someone else or he's still in love with his last girlfriend. Happens a lot.

One thing you have to keep in mind when using a dating site is many of the people you begin talking with are talking with others...This does not always mean they are players....In fact it can, and often does, mean just the opposite...It means they are actively using the site for its intended purpose, to find a match...It is unrealistic to assume that every person you begin dialog with will be a good fit or romantic connect....You may go through several false starts before you find the one who captures your undivided attention and vice versa..Sometimes you have to try on several pairs of shoes before you find the perfect fit....

Well I see you ask for a male advice but here is mine.happy Been on here 4 years and there is allot that have been on here. more and after a while we all know or know of each other. This can be a good thing. And you notice a persons numbers kind of tell how long or how much they talk. Now there is predators out there too. Some are just lonely and want someone of the opposite sex to talk to and that is enough so when it gets serious they go bye bye. Once you've been on here long enough you can pretty much figure it out quicker. I like friends if I find that better half I'll be happier but I'm happy now with just friends too. And Be careful like I said predators out there too.flowerforyou

Something is up. I have been stood up on a first meet three times in six months by three different guys. They get all excited about the meet and then back out at the last second....so over it! I would rather not get my hopes up at all then to think it was going to happen and be let down. I think I am just going to settle for single and buy another birdohwell

Happens here, happens in the real world. I've seen it happen after a few messages and it actually happened to me once with a so called "friend" after years.

The main cause IMHO is that "Common Courtesy" is just not that common anymore.

Here's a thought. I don't know if it's the answer, but it's what I think. E-meeting sites are not the same as real life. Everybody knows this deep down, no matter how friendly they get with someone via e-mail. So not only can you not have real trust in the person, you also don't even have a real connection like you would if you had even just seen them at a party. That might be why it's easier for people to chicken out at the last minute and feel like they don't owe you any apology. You're not really real to them. And I mean this for people who aren't playing games or being predators. They *think* they're ready to meet someone, but someone off the internet? That's a different story. I don't think you can be real to someone until you look them in the face.

I know people do meet from these sites and even develop relationships, but I wonder what the percentage is in the big picture.
