... I agree with you mightymoe,

between these two is a good example of what happens when people are not upfront in the beginning.

SingmeSweet has brought up good questions for people to think about. I do not think some people take a dating site seriously.

Personal bull chit baggage. Which includes every douchie thing imaginable.

So you expect them to tell you right away about anything douchie they've done?

Its a douche if it never says anything.

This isn't necessarily just about a dating site, but dating in general. I went out with someone not too long ago and didn't find out until the second date that he was married.

That is horrible! What happened to fidelity these days? For some though fidelity is not of concern.

I strongly see there is a need to be upfront firstly and foremost in profiles. Stating, what a person wants or is looking for being brutely upfront about it, for there is no need to be tricky or vague because what each person wants the chances are someone else wants the same for, not all people are the same.

Just proves what all know, everyone's values differ in life, therefore again, honesty is the best policy starting foremost with the profile before dating.

If I have to guess what he's thinking. Turns into a big game.

There are certain things I believe people should know about me personally before considering dating me. I am always up front about my medical issues and my current living situation. I want people to know what they are getting into and see if they can handle it.

Other things I like to know about other people: Any medical/mental issues that I should be aware of. Any criminal history, i.e. are they still in debt to society....the rest can come up in natural conversation.

I think that type of honesty is the best policy, it avoids either party wasting 'time' or effort on something that will not have much potential.

I basically would think to share anything I thought had the potential in a reasonable person to cause pause down the line....for me,,,that issue is being legally married,,even though I split from my husband three years ago.

To many, the paper means as much as the physical relationship (having either one makes someone off bounds)

and I can respect that enough to tell them upfront.

its another reason I am 'building' friendships online as opposed to dating in real time. I kind of would want the person who took marriage that seriously, and Im obviously not in a position to attract them in my current situation.

His pay cheque! shades

or lack thereofnoway laugh

That works both ways.

I would want to know if the woman is looking for a sugar daddy so that she can have the lifestyle that she wants without having to help pay for it.

Married, not divorced. Definitely not info you save for the second date, especially after you said you were single.
