Do they have fat and protein supplements for cats? I'm sure they do, but has anyone ever seen anything like that? If so, what is it, and where did you find it?

My cat is losing too much weight, even though he's eating plenty, and not as active as he used to be.

I think maybe supplements may help him to gain weight.

What else, besides giving him table scraps could I do to help him gain weight?

He doesn't have worms, and I already have him on special cat food for hair balls and digestion, because he does have digestive problems, but he's always been a healthy weight until recently.

You should definitely take him to the vet Totage, there could be a reason why he's losing weight.

It's probably best to take him to see a vet to see what's really going on.

You should never give a pet table scraps but my cat loves to lick the bowl after I have chili and he loves to lick on my vanilla ice cream cone...bigsmile Yes, you should check with your vet..

I never feed him table scraps. Of course there have been rare occasions where he has been fed popcorn, chips, or even stolen food such as hamburgs and hotdog, but for the most part I keep him on a very strict cat food only diet, and have so since he was born.

I bought some multivitamins today. I'm going to see if that helps. He doesn't seem to be in pain or acting weird or anything. He's still as playful as he was when he was a kitten, can climb all over, etc. Sometimes he even forgets how old he is, but gets reminded. lol

He hasn't been to the vet since he was a young kitten. He's well over due for a check up. I'm going to see how these vitamins work before I take him to the vet though, unless of course things get worse.

What kind of food are you feeding him? Most cat foods are very high in fillers, which are indigestible.

Take your poor cat to the vet, especially since he's overdue for a checkup and you've noticed he's losing weight. Stop guessing at what may help. You'll end up putting your cat in more harm that way.

I give him Purina foods, it varies, but I try to stick with the hairball formulas, which seem to work well with him. He has digestive issues, but the Purina hairball control foods seem to help him.

I just took this pic of him.

I hate to suggest something horrible, but have you had him checked for feline leukemia? OR...is he diabetic? That is REALLY common and manageable! (My favorite pet ever/cat lived to be an old, old lady with 2x daily insulin injections and it was worth the effort, cuz she was such a cool cat!) Poor baby looks SKINNY!

Not yet, but will be getting him to the vet soon. His vision is good, and he doesn't seem to be urinating more, or drinking more water or anything like that. The only abnormal thing is his weight.

My cat is almost 10 yrs old.. He's an indoor cat and I feed him food for indoor cats (ones that don't get the exercise like an outdoor one would).. He's healthy and very active but is lean looking...
