Yes this is what the original post was about, which again has absolutely nothing to do with my dad not liking to be called "father". And again, all Jesus was saying was to put him first. since you're not a Christian nor follow the rituals of Christianity which is why you not referring to your Father as being your Father in your case has nothing to do with Jesus also if was your Father that specifically forbid you to call him Father which means you had no choice in the matter and it once again has nothing to do with Jesus in your case and this points to the part of the equation you left out...whether or not your Father was Christian but either way when it comes to hate it doesn't matter because if you Father is Christian Jesus said that he must hate you in order to become a disciple which means if your Father is Christian your Father hates you if your Father is not Christian then his demand that you do not call him Father has nothing to do with Jesus and points to hate and shame so the most logical question to ask is...is your Father a Christian ...but it's understandable if you don't want to answer if your Father is not Christian then his demand that you do not call him Father has nothing to do with Jesus and points to hate and shame You have misunderstood what I said somewhere along the road here, and sorry if I didn't say it clear enough. I can't believe this thread flipped from argument power over out of context OP.
Yeah, the words were as written, but you had the read the whole chapter to get an inkling of the context. Much like Salmon Rushdie book on Islam, "Satanic verses." The Bible has them too if you don't understand what you are reading. My 2 cents worth. |
