What are your thoughts on dating co-workers?

Im talking to this one girl now, she works on a different floor. I do see that we have chemistry.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Just keep work out of your personal affairs.

Ok.. if you're not in the same "chain of command" so to speak its not that big of a deal MOST of the time. I wish you well.

However, things you might want to consider:

- Departments change and "poof" you're in the same group sick
- Things go well and it causes complications if some get promoted, changes floors dept etc huh
- Things go bad and it causes complications if some get promoted, changes floors dept etc noway
- People at work are in your business.grumble

Not dooming it, just points from a long observations of office romances.

You look young tho.. probably mobile in your career and can bail or move on if poo hits the fan. Go ahead, consider it part of the benefits package and get your hump on at the office!

I've done it before and won't do it again. Not a good idea.

Been there. Done that. Was a mistake.

If you date a co-worker, then what happens when the two of you have a fight?

I predict big time drama and someone either quitting or getting fired.

Life on the wild side. Or, as wild as working in an office can get. laugh smokin

I have to agree with most, not a very good idea. I see it quite a bit where I work, and it never works out.

I've rarely seen this work out well in the long run. Sorry.
My rules? No married men and no co-workers. Either is doomed, IMHO.

Personally this never worked for me, and I never wanted to date anyone that I worked with, even though I was attracted to a few. I think it's a personal thing, and should the two of you agree, why not? I've worked in one office where dating each other, was frowned upon. However, two workers did date each other, without anyone in the managerial positions knew about it, the only people that did know were those of us that were friends with them. They actually married each other, and since he was making the best money out of the two of them, she quit before they got married.

Make sure this sort of company policy doesn't apply to your place of work also. Either way you go with this, good luck to you.

Me; personally I have always had a policy of never dating a co-worker. If it goes wrong; you work life can be hell.

I've always been against dating a co worker, pretty much for all the reasons everyone has just mentioned. Its always the What ifs? Know what I mean? Around the office you gotta keep it professional and not to be known as a jerk.

But this girl, I feel different, I would like to take the risk, but on the other hand, I dont want to take the risk. Again, what if it doesnt work out well. And I definately dont want to change companys. Ive had three different jobs in three different companies in the past three years, so I am staying put.
