Have you become "set" in your "ways?"...My husband passed away 2 years ago and I'm wondering if I'm becoming "set" in my "ways" due to living alone...Guess it's easy to become this way. What do you think? Thanks.

No, I'm always evolving, learning, open to improvement, etc. I'll never settle for where or what I am today. I will always strive for better.

I used to be....

But, I put in my notice at work after 7 years....

I am moving at the end of the month to go love my woman.

I am starting my life again.

I am ditching my house and everything but my dog, my clothes, my car and my bank account.

I am nervous as an epileptic...

But, I got a good feeling that changing my life is gonna be a good thing.

Bu, if I don't take the risk of being happy....no one else can be happy for me.

Hell yeah brother. I truly hope for the best. I'm sure you two will make it. If you have the balls to take a risk like that, you have the balls to make anything work.

I've done things like that, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Nothing worth having is easy to obtain, but it is obtainable if you are determined and have what it takes to go get it.

When I had Chron's disease, I definitely was. I just wanted to be in my home a lot, until I felt I could do more. It's a weird illness to have because it's one where nobody knows where it comes from, or how to make it leave the body. It just cleared up anyway. So I felt like new born baby discovering everything around me. I went on more road trips. I knew then that I could defy odds of recovery. Despite never knowing how it healed itself. I will always be adventurous. I still strive for a better life. I don't want to waste my own time.

Yes, I'm very set in my ways cause I've been alone for 17 years.

I am not certain that "set" is what I would call it. Most people like things a certain way.

yes and no, in terms of my lifestyle and values, I have found what gives me peace and dont plan to uproot or change it

as far as experiences and knowledge, I plan to always be open to gaining as much as possible, without having to uproot my foundation

The fact that you are on Mingle suggests that you are open to new opportunuties of freindship, which shows that you are not completely "set in your ways", few of us are.

Good luck, and I hope you find what you are looking for.

No, I really don't like anything to be set, I like to feel like I am not tied.

Good luck to you! I took a risk and a "chance" when I met my husband and we were best friends and happily married for 24 years. (Until he passed away.) Some relationships do have "happy endings!" And I wish you tons of joy and happiness in your brand new life!

Thanks! It's great to have friends! I don't want to "dry-up" like an "old prune." And give-up on life!

You know, it is so easy to live in "fear". My Dad has always stated that he "hated change". I find this funny cause life changes so much. It's like we want to keep things in that comfort zone. And to me, that just isn't living.

Sure. Finding a comfort is great. But deciding to just stay in it for fear is limiting a person's ability to evolve. I know I lived in fear after my divorce. But you know what? I got out there, have taken come chances, and have learned a ton a long the way. I am single, I can see that my life (even at 39) is beginning again and I believe the best is yet to come.

I'm a creature of habit... "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"... so to that extent I suppose I'm 'set' in my ways. I've lived alone, romantically speaking, for most of my adult life so it's to be expected... coffee cups go on the bottom shelf, watch the game at 7:00, some things just become routine.

Having said that, I think I adapt pretty well to our constantly evolving world. We all change over the course of our lives, impossible not to really, and so I roll with the punches and ride the waves trying to make the most of it. I'm pretty free-spirited when it comes to taking chances... "better to try and fail than never try at all". I've moved around, done tons of different things in my life, and I intend to do a whole lot more before I call it a day.

I may be somewhat set in my ways, but they're not set in cement and it's definitely portable! shades

No...Used to be, but recently I realized that the true beauty of humanity is the ability to change.

Humm speaking of set in ones ways...Ya I'm pretty much set in my ways...I have lived pretty much alone besides my kids and two differnt boy friends that lived with me less then a year total for both for the last 21 years...I like the way I do things and when I do them... Not saying I detest changes just saying it is what works for me....

At times I do feel that I have lived alone so long that it would be hard to live with others... Have not found one yet that seem to work...

To the point I would prefer they have their place and I have mine..
