Yes well...that's what i wear them in a bar for. Only pull them down when i see cute glutes leaning up against the bar. And then it's only briefly....i would be mortified if i was caught checkin it out :-)

According to university studies world wide the ideal female hip to waist ratio of 1.0 (hip) to 0.7 (waist) is considered the most attractive.

Average seems to have grown over the years. Of what I remember of my mothers generation (and photos from the 60's) average women in their 40's today are definitely bigger.

Within our present day society 33% of men and women are obese and over 50% are over weight. If this continues obese may someday be the new average.

Some feel my saying this is unkind but the fact is, it's reality. In my last job I use to travel a lot. People in Europe, the middle east and the orient always asked "why are Americans getting so fat"?

It's not only in America that obesity is a (pardon the pun) growing problem, and i think it comes down to 3 things.

Laziness
Convenience
Fast food

I heard somewhere that the average American woman is a size 14. I would describe a size 14 woman as more "thick" than fat.

Is this what you mean by a size 14?

Such good advice, now that we have accepted ourselves(our bodies) when will a man see through the skin and into the heart?

Funny you should mention this. I was at a bar the other night and there was a woman who caught my eye. She came up to me and said "Stop staring at my t!ts"! I told her I wasn't. I was just trying to see through her skin and into her heart. She slapped me and threw a drink on me. So much for that theory.......smokin

I would have at least shared a ginger ale with you for being so clever,,,lol,, GOOD ONE

I think bones showing, toothpick legs, and no distinct difference in circumference from shoulder to thigh is SKINNY

I think 15 percent or less body fat without exposing bones is SLIM

I think maintaining a firm body, and an appropriate body weight for height is HEIGHT WEIGHT PROPORTIONATE

I think carrying the weight slightly heavier in the hips and breast, while maintaining firm midsection, but still proportionate to each other is VOLUPTUOUS

carrying pockets of fat in the hips , arms , or thighs is fat

I think the average in america is between voluptuous and fat...

I must be pretty bad off then hahahaha

apparently on here, average means that you barely fit through a three foot wide entrance door and a few extra pounds means get the forklift i have fallen and i cant get up. Ladies if you cant be honest with yourself about your condition, why would you expect anyone to take you seriously? .... Since i have already caught you in either a lie or a giant case of denial.... Politically incorrect? you bet. Factual though.

Not all of us lie about our size. Some of us like being honest and expect to be treated like as a person regardless of our shape.. . BTW. .. MINE IS ROUND :)

To be honest I wish they had a 'weight thingy' for a person to put how many kilograms they weigh. I want to know this information to get an idea of a persons look. It could be optional whether to answer the weight question, just sayin. bigsmile

Pictures are definitely the way to go. If all the ladies could post a body photo in their profile, just for clarity, this would probably help most guys in their search. Just a thought.

This might be agreeable if men are held to the same standard.

The reality is that men and women are neither perfect at almost any given age.

What is sad is in American culture is a few pounds and or greying maybe a few scars here and there are not considered life history or even success to be able to enjoy a few haves but failure to have self control or many other negatives. It is as if we think we have to feel shame for everything.

I've never once even thought about asking a guy what he weighs in order to know what he looks like. Again, clear pictures work just fine.

I think anyone who has a problem with fat people, are obviously not worth being in a relationship with. And some people wonder why they're single with an attitude like that? Wow. Just because society bashes fat people, constantly, doesn't mean they are any less of an awesome person. I'm glad to know a few fat people. drinker

Please, give me your definition of the different body types. I see different size people for the same body type. I see average as someone at their idea body weight. An equal medium for a body type.

Everyone will have a different definition of a body type. I would say mine is average but friends would say athletic; and some men on this site would say overweight. I think its really in the eye of the beholder.

Or how many pounds they weigh.

Not every nation uses the metric system.
