some use the word special to imply greater than, and some just use it to imply DIFFERENT than


its amazing that we are all 'special' to our family, our surroundings, our histories

and yet all 'equal' in being human?

lol, when I Was younger, we were raised not to insult people

so 'special' was a less insulting way to point out that someone was not too bright or savvy, or whatever,,,


I had a cousin who kept me in stitches telling other kids they were 'special',,,,especially when they would assume it was a statement intended to compliment and they would say 'thanx'....lol

so 'special' was a less insulting way to point out that someone was not too bright or savvy, or whatever,,,

Yeah; my friends still use the term special on some of the people we know and its certainly not a compliment. :smile:

just imagine if she had said that while on the verge of an intimate moment", she had "special needs", then you may have said, "Oh, are you handicapped?"laugh
