Horse meat scandal in Europe. Most recently found in IKEA's meatballs. The thing that confuses me is do you have to assemble the meatballs yourself?

Horse is good, but mule is better.

People having been eating both, way before beef cows became so popular.

Customers have now lost trust in these supermarkets. Once that happens, less customers, less sales, and I'd hardly be shocked if the places got shut down. They used the wrong word to describe it. 'Contaminated' means poisoned, but no meat has been poisoned. Stuff has been added to it. Contamination isn't the right word to describe it. Nothing new though. People have eaten horse meat for years, so which part of this is a problem at all?

I remember quite vividly the first time i heard the phrase "I'm so hungry that i could eat a horse and chase the jockey"....i was 6yrs old, and my mother had a hell of a time trying to stop me from crying. :-|

Growing up in Europe all the butcher shops had horse meat; some entire horses and one just chose the part to be cut. No big deal.

I am a major horse lover, and I have no problem with the idea of horse meat for dinner. Not that I've ever had it.
