I never knew that even in the US with all the scientific bla bla bla and civilization there's still magic Science is simply magic we have been able to explain.

I used to practice witchcraft, was a hedgewitch to be specific. But I quit and moved on. After some 2, 3 years I felt it was too limited and too limiting. I don't think it was meant the way it has got, somehow it felt as if the most important stuff (the more high vibrational things) was left out, or forgotten. If no one remembers that stuff anymore, then there's no one who can pass it on. It lacks something. I knew that intuitively. So I started doing different things, energy work, light work, crystal healing and so. I also don't refer to myself as being a witch anymore, haven't for a long time. It just doesn't suffice to describe what/who I am. I haven't really found the right label for it, so I usually just stick to "energy worker". I do energy readings and healings (via aura & chakra), tarot readings, crystal healings (mainly for me or Mother Earth), occasionally I do workshops, teaching ppl to ground, work with their chakras & aura etc. (intuitive development & growth), sometimes still do some shamanic stuff (as in witchy things). And I harmonize houses & ground/area. The latter I want to develop further as I feel that is a big part, if not the task of my life's (soul) purpose. Well, in my opinion, not everyone who starts out studying witchcraft and even practicing witchcraft is necessarily a witch. I think a lot of energy workers may start there, but then they realize their true calling as you have. I have known I was a witch since I was in my 20's. Before I even knew there was such a thing as Wicca (which I'm not) or modern day witches. I was very afraid of it, however, as I grew up in a fundamentalist Christian home. So, it was only about 13 years ago that I began to seriously study witchcraft and practice it. I was still a witch and practiced witchcraft when I converted to Catholicism and that has not changed regardless of what religion I was practicing. About a year ago I walked away from Catholicism completely and embraced Paganism which is what I had really been all along. At least that's the religion most consistent with my beliefs. Ultimately, it doesn't really matter what you call yourself as long as it works for you.

For Samhain today I took a vacation day for the first time ever to have the holiday off. I realized I need to start making the Sabbats and ritual a bigger part of my life. I get lazy and quit putting in the effort, but I am beginning to learn that a neglected ritual life is a neglected spiritual life. So, yes, tonight I have a ritual that I chose to celebrate the cycle of life and death. I will also put out the photos of my ancestors (I am lucky to have some going back to my great-great grandparents) and honor them tonight. Perhaps a little meditation and divination as well. I'll play that part by ear. How about you? Or anyone else?

U cast spells, paintedcards? Most spell casters, witch or not, are not going to talk specifically about their spells or what they do. Not saying that's the case with everyone, but most I know, do not.

Very true what you say about getting sloppy with the sabbats. i got the same thing. I still didn't get around to preparing anything for tonight, it's already half past 6 :S But I probably will come up with something, just play it by ear instead of having a worked out ritual. That's the advantage of being more experienced anyway, I don't need to think up an entire ritual I want to do. I believe in myself now, I guess a couple of years ago I was still a bit insecure and wanted to make sure I did everything right. But there is really no right or wrong, just the right intention is enough to make it work, whatever you do. So I'll probs go to my Sacred Garden and start from there. The them will be masculine / feminine energies, as that is something that's very important to me at the moment. Anima & animus etc. I will include my ancestors as well, but I will have to make do with the thought/intention, as I haven't got pictures of them. Have a wonderful evening and Samhain!
