I've been away for a few several months, probably a year I haven't kept track but I discovered from being away is how much I gained from just living my life, or rather, finally living my life the only way I know how, just doing it.

As far as relationships go, I think there's a time and a place for this to happen and I don't force it to. I stay away from the negative people who drag life down in the most cynical way.

I prefer friendships and deep conversations, not through texting but actually phone calls and meeting in person, eye contact, real things. I had to get away from the computer and ignore peoples' text messages because I am just so tired of people being so lazy when it comes to genuine conversation. I think it's lost sometimes with our social media being so prevalent in our lives.

What did I learn so far? It gets harder the older you get but it also gets more worthwhile once you figure out how to live your life the way you want it.

RU sure ur age is correct? When people talk about "old souls" I am pretty sure they mean u.

And yes, when people use machines to do the work of a (wo)man they take something away from that (wo)man. Communication, with all the paralinguistics, r the way 2 go.

Yeah. I can definitely see what you mean. I got over a phobia, by getting up off my ***, instead of sitting all day on the internet. I think some people confuse their own reality with internet life. Especially the kind that love too easily. I told myself that I needed to spend more time with family, as I felt like time was slipping away before me. And I didn't want to end up regretting not spending quality time with them. Any of them could die at any time. So I put in effort to see them. Luckily, I know when to seperate offline life from online life.

One more thing I have learned..
is that no matter how hard I try.. to make everybody happy.. someone's always going to be unhappy. unless I sacrifice a big chunk of myself somehow.. and this may seem selfish. but I have also learned.. I just don't want to do that anymore..hmm.

Rule #1) You can not make others happy. They either choose to be happy with who you are or what you can offer or they don't.
Rule #2) If you are not personally happy change it or quit complaining.
Rule #3) Always refer to rules 2 & 3...
That's what I've learned.

I've learnt to stop caring so much for people that care so little about me. Grasp opportunities that present themselves, you regret the things you didn't do the most. The older you get, the quicker time passes. If you always follow the crowd you'll never get through those small openings.

You have eloquently stated my own opinion that "SOCIAL MEDIA" is the most unsocial, antisocial, form of communication. One primary reason is that is generally one way transfer of information. Nobody wants to see or acknowledge your opinion unless it is in praise of theirs. I'll never understand why people are so proud of the number of "friends" that they ignore on a daily basis.
