I don't have a job. I had an accident 2,5 yrs ago and sustained neck injury. It took me quite some time to sort of recover from that - think I had head injury or at the very least a very serious concussion, as I hit my head really very hard, twice.
I'm fine now, but I can't do everything I could do before the accident. If I can sit up straight I have no problem whatsoever. So I can work on computers easy-peasy. But anything that requires looking down (like when you're reading a book) for more than 5 minutes, I can not do. Which includes entering data from forms, copying lots of paperwork (more than 5 mins), doing paperwork etc etc.

I got a work coach who's supposed to find me something I can do, but so far to no avail. I've tried several things, but almost every job requires something I can't physically do anymore, usually stupid little things.
It's mostly management jobs I can do, and I got the capacity to do that, but not the qualifications. And there's so few jobs around, I can simply forget about that. In this area it's mostly engineer work and cleaning holiday homes.

I don't mind to be honest, I needed the time to recover from that horrible accident, and I also needed time to find my feet after a real bad relationship.
Right now feel I'm ready to get going with my life again, so I'm working on what I want to do and can do. Probably a combination of a part-time job and what makes me really happy: workshops on personal & intuitive growth and development.
Would also help if I could sell paintings on a regular basis.

Sorry that you going thru' this hard time on the jobs! And suffering the pain. Hope the pain will eventually be gone or bearable, and that you can forget about it in due time.

Wish you success in finding something you would love to do in the long run..flowers

Pain is okay, as long as I don't have to do stuff that puts stress on my neck / shoulder area. I have to do so at home at times, but at least then I can take it easy for a day, on the work floor you can't.
It's permanent damage though.

As it is I'm glad my face is okay. I hit my head on a brick wall and my face on a shoring post after that, at full velocity after falling from the top of the stairs ... both my lips torn from the blow, broke a tooth ..
Think God lips heal really well .. and now got a beautiful capped tooth
I consider myself lucky .. the angle I fell ... could've been dead..

It's just a job. I don't love it or hate it. When it's over, I enjoy my time out of work and don't think about work until I go back to the office.

I've had the pleasure of traveling with my job (did so for two years). Right now I make a good living in a state where the cost of living is not high. However, I can move around if I choose to and that makes me pretty happy. Yeah....I get bored easily in one place. laugh

I am currently working as a substance abuse therapist. There are days I love my job and others not. I choose the change in position so I would be challenged and I definitely am.

I love my job working at the nursing home. And I love taking my days off, too. The downtime makes the up time more productive. The job has helped me so much personally but I do love getting that paycheck. Getting that paycheck every two weeks isn't my preference; Weekly would be more to my liking. I used to think that the nursing home was just for the elderly but realize we have residents young enough to be my children. So when I am working with residents who are my children age I remind them to respect the elderly. LOL Of course, they tell me okay old man. LOL Or, yes, daddy. LOL And one of them even calls me grandpa. LOL

Respect you and those who are in the care-giving industry! Takes a lot of compassion and heart to be able to give the kind of care day in day out! Being called so many names....well, they are 'terms of endearment' for their hero, you with the gentle hands!

Yeah....having a job and doing things we enjoy, and getting paid for it! We are lucky......but we searched, found and settled on a job that we can love. Some are still searching.

You are still young......continue searching and change if you can find and settle on a job that you will love! It can happen!
My last full time job as a factory manager, I resigned (fired my boss laugh) and settled on freelancing....and it has been the best choice ever!
