Would never give money to any girl/women for any reason so I'm not worried about scammers on here.

I have had a lot of emails from online sites saying someone is interested in me and when I click on it, they have already been reported and removed. Glad the sites are doing their job (and still FREE!!!) But some get through. I am not sure they are scammers in that they have never ask for money, just my email and phone. I do not give that out. That is why I am using a name that describes me rather than my real name. I prefer honesty but we have to stay safe. That said, two totally different things. I think I have been getting fake profiles from Russians. The photos and writing styles are European and the answers have a computer generated edge to them. I ask some pointed questions without giving out info and refuse to go to private email. But it just has a weird feeling. Any one else running into these guys? Secondly, people keep mentioning making friends on the forum. I kinda don't think all the friend making is going on in the comments. But when I click profiles to see where people are coming from most everyone has their mail limits set pretty tight. I have mine open. Should I tighten them? How do you make friends/ correspond? I tend to write too much or not enough so would rather ask questions privately to not embarrass myself and others. I write a lot because I live (by choice) in a rural area and EVERYONE is a long way. Too far for a cup of coffee. Thanks all. Yes.. I have noticed the European / Russian computer generated mail ... Your not the only one.

I am not stupid because I learned from the first time. You are smarter than I. In my defense some of the scammers can be really deceiving. |

No, just kidding;} Honestly? The answer is *Yes*, I've met some a couple of totally awesome individuals on this site. Unfortunately, "Scammers" seem to be more prevalent due to the fact that they are aggressively & energetically seeking their next "Mark" in a manner that legitimate individuals do not...

The only mail I get from women are all from scammers they make it so easy to tell really. |

Through the years I have met several wonderful people from this site. I have never met a scammer... This site is better than most I have ever seen |

For safety sake: {and this should be something everyone does} I have an email account that I use for family/friends and trusted associations and then I have a Gmail account that is for those 'NEWBIE' not sure but I'll wait and see people that I'm getting to know and that 2nd gmail account is the one that I give strictly for 'Getting to Know' people---especially on these Single Groups! Just 2 risky allowing someone to have access to my main email account --- absolutely NO WAY! I live in a very small rural area too. |

To original question. Through the years I have met several wonderful people from this site. I have never met a scammer... This site is better than most I have ever seen Yes but where you are at you would surely have to go out of state, I am there 4 months and there is hardly anyone! Even in Florida there are few, met only one person personally in over five years and she could out fish me  . Have met many good and even a few liars (age-photo-weight) on other sites. Ladies lie about your age or use old photos and I will and have walked out! Be real-I am! |

I'm here for some weeks now and I find this really annoying. Every mail I get, is scam. There's a lot of nice REAL people on this site. You'll find them. Yes there is, BUT still tooooo many scammers. I see it the same as when I go out and get hit on by drunken creep, or "sex only" predators, or any other un-welcomed attention in public. Discernment and time usually fins scammers out. Good luck though. |

I get a lot of scammers..and young horny little fellas...but I actually get a lot of mail from "real" men as well..unfortunately not any within 200 miles that I would share any interests with...a lot of wonderful gentlemen too far away...but all is good.. I have a great time playing around in the forums...and even though the men I've been attracted to are distant...I have had some pleasant chats with a few..hugs and happy thought to all.. I've met lots of folks in person, from here. In the seven years I've been on mingle2, I've only ever encountered two scammers.

I met someone from a dating site. He could type real well, even from his phone app. We chatted on the phone too for about 18 months.. then he visited me in Florida from Wisconsin. Long trip, took a plane and waited 18 hrs to catch a train. lol It was funny. He is a nice guy to chat with across the country. Nothing bad happened. I just don't want to be a mother to a 60 year old~! Constantly cleaned up behind him the whole week he was here. NEXT.....

I am not sure why I dont' get as many scammers maybe because I don't go off site period.. I don't care what the reason is I don't go til I am good and ready |

There are lots of sugar man fake and scammers.. only few good man.. if you wont control our feelings we got dismayed. A few weeks ago ive met one .. nice man but married. Its useless spending time.. better look for new good man. Hope hes somewhere here.

On this site here, I have chatted with a lot of jerks. Not really scammers, more like liars. In my area in Florida, there are very few decent men. Most have some strange activities that would not interest me. There are a lot of profiles that have not been updated in several years. I know that because I was here, met someone and left, my friend died suddenly and I returned to remove his profile. I only am willing to talk to local people. So that cuts down on a lot of scammers. Another site I visit, that place is loaded with them... but we alert each other in forums on how to sort things out to be more careful.

There are some scammers here (there are on practically any site), but I've met quite a few people on here that are very much real. Only a handful I've met in person due to distance, but I've known them long enough and talked to them long enough (some for almost a decade now) other places than here. After a while on here you kind of get a second sense of who the scammers are after about 30 seconds....
