Keep doing what I'm doing now.
Except then it would be for fun, and not for making a living.

Fund a trust for two people I love with all the passion a human heart can hold.

Buy a Corvette convertible - any year will do. Mid-life crisis? Who cares? It's a 'Vette! Have dreamt of it since the 1st one I ever saw in 1962.

Anonymously donate a bunch to the non-profit I work for so we can expand operations to help even more folks. (Maybe they'll even give all of us a pay raise with some of it. There are some amazing people working there and they deserve it.)

Open a club that features dance performances (think Flash Dance) because I've never seen one like that except for in that movie, Mom was a competitive ballroom dancer and I think she would've enjoyed it, I could get in synch with my Circadian rythms (I'm an owl, not a lark - heart doesn't even start beating 'til after 11 a.m.) and work nights. Oh yeah, almost forgot - Watching girls dance probably ain't the worst job in the world.

Put 2m in CDs and move to Colorado or Oregon. Go to the doctor and finally get diagnosed with crohn's disease, repair my car and get started on a master's or doctorate, probably physics botany or organic chemistry.

If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I’d buy you a house I would buy you a house And if I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars I’d buy you furniture for your house Maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman And if I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I’d buy you a K-Car A nice reliant automobile And if I had a million dollars, I’d buy your love If I had a million dollars I’d build a tree-fort in our yard If I had a million dollars you could help It wouldn’t be that hard If I had a million dollars Maybe we could put a little tiny fridge In there somewhere We could just go up there and hang out Like open the fridge and stuff And there’d all be foods laid out for us Like little pre-wrapped sausages and things They have pre-wrapped sausages But they don’t have pre-wrapped bacon Well, can you blame them? Yeah If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I’d buy you a fur a coat But not a real fur coat, that’s cruel And if I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I’d buy you an exotic pet Yep, like a llama or an emu And if I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I’d buy you John Merrick’s remains All them crazy elephant bones And if I had a million dollars I’d buy your love If I had a million dollars We wouldn’t have to walk to the store If I had a million dollars We’d take a Limousine ’cause it costs more If I had a million dollars We wouldn’t have to eat Kraft dinner But we would eat Kraft dinner Of course we would, we’d just eat more And buy really expensive ketchups with it That’s right, all the fanciest Dijon ketchups If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I’d buy you a green dress But not a real green dress, that’s cruel And if I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I’d buy you some art A Picasso or a Garfunkel If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars Well, I’d buy you a monkey Haven’t you always wanted a monkey? If I had a million dollars I’d buy your love If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars If I had a million dollars I'd be rich

Travel... America, Canada, Scotland, Australia (Uluru), Glastonbury UK

Buy a house
Buy a new(er) car, nothing fancy, just a new, good car
Put enough away for my retirement and make some decent interest on it
Do a few workshops I really want to do (spiritual development)
Do a/some Ray Mears survival course(s)

And indeed 5 mil ain't all that much anymore these days.. So you'd have to be really careful. But I think I can fulfill my wishes with it :)

Seriously I would invest.
I would also set up trust investment program for my grand children and future grandchildren to have the education they wanted. I am a firm believer in education.

I would give at least a 1/3 to some of the charities that are close to my heart.
I would also buy a bunch of prepared foods and drive along the streets of Anchorage handing out hot meals to the homeless there. I honestly don't care who and why they are there not my issue but I know they have to be cold and hungry.

Pay off the few debts I have..
Pay off the few debts my children have.
Set up a stipend for my parents so they would never have to worry
Help lift some of the financial burden my sister is going through with a husband that has ALS..

My actual needs and wants are not that expensive in the monetary sense

Love of a good man,
health to enjoy our lives together,
warm and snug home filled with laughter and love,
Love of family,
the gift of friendships far and wide..

after I have all that raid the quilts shops near and far for fabrics..
That I think would be my huge splurge

Easy peasy!

Set up my daughter and granddaughter with a house of their own.

Pay off my car, which I will keep.

And then... Travel! I want to see EVERYTHING!

Yes, there will be some boring legal and financial planning going on as well. grumble

if I won that, I'd invest some.

make some repairs on our house.
have the opportunity to work from home and care for someone who needs it.
I would travel to meet several people here whom I admire.

Yay, for those who already have that worth. I don't believe in pie in the sky type scenarios. People who think or hope for this to magically occur are idiots. And if by chance it does happen for those mindless idiots by winning a lottery, well it has been proven most of those people who are unused to managing finances blow their winnings in a very short amount of time.

That is a nice dream. You can live to a hundred doing that. I will never inherit 5 or even 1 million. So I had two choices, one feel sorry for myself or do something about it. Since I have made the decision to do something about it, I have doubled my wages. It is a lot of sacrifices but that is what it took. Now that I am making twice as much as I did when I joined Mingle, I am not settling. I know that I can do much better, I have faith, and now doors that were always open are apparent. I enjoy making money, although there is a bit of slavery doing it. I have realized that if I want to make it, I am going to have to use leverage. I hope that God gives me direction on how to do that. Accomplishing goals is a lot more fun than dreaming. I really wish that I had started earlier. I did have some friends that inherited between 50 to 250 thousand and they are all broke, because they never learned how to handle money.

I once read, that people who are not a accustomed to money.. psychology can't handle anymore than a lump sum of $300.000 . They either blow it or give it away.
But hey... there are 17 posts, other than my own.. 14 have given it serious thought.
Let's face it, if I said $300.000.. This thread either wouldn't have posts., because people would want more money. Or people would be lining up, saying " Why $300,000? ". smokin
