So you decided to do this question annually?
Since most here are regulars, I don't think the answers will have changed since you asked the same thing about 1 year ago.

As for the Himalaya, quite something...
Prayer for the souls that lost their lives...

So-called "hippie culture" is a very complicated, mixed up thing. Way back when I thought I was part of it (but found out both that I wasn't, and that it was a fantasy of the media more than anything else), I was aware of at least three primary subsets of the "hippie" world.

The "stoners" were easiest to recognize. Everything was about getting high. Work was just to get enough money to get high, and have a safe place to do it. No one gave a crap what each other did for the money.

Then there were the "lifestyle" hippies, who were all about trying to live differently in a few specific ways, from the "straights." There was a wide variety of them, but they tended to respect each other as equals, though on a sliding scale, based on how much different from the "straights" their lives were.

Then there were the Political Hippies. They were all about protest and change. Being more aggressive, they often looked down their noses at the stoners and at the lifestyle subgroups, because neither of them usually showed up at the "front lines" to scream at everyone else.

So which fantasy version of hippies is this repeat thread about?

Same. Crystals in my armpits wouldn't work either.

I've never had a use for hippies or weed.

But...

As opposed to hippies,
I can almost tolerate the smell of weed.

To paraphrase planet of the apes...

Keep your hands off me, you damn dirty hippies!

More and more hippies are turning into Rednecks. Still have are long hair. Just no more bell bottoms.
