How do I answer to the question "why do you like me"

truthfully & honestly

Yes but...I don't know what to say. lol. I mean this guy is very....curious. and kind of questions my questions and or answers.

I hate that. always explaining your answers or receiving a question to your question.

tell him that if he doesn't knock the s*** off you are not going to like him. That should do it.

I told him "why. not?"

think its an ego trip for some..like to sit back and listen while you list off all sorts of reasons why you dig them and then give nothing but more questions in return

Basically with an answer like 'piss off lover boy'.

What a question to ask someone, why do you like me, WTF

Why is this a difficult question?
And how can anyone else tell you why you like a third person?


The only reasons you wouldn't know what to say are:
1. You don't "really" like him, you're just dating him because he's aesthetically pleasing at best, and you're just sticking around until the next best thing comes around.

2. You are afraid of the real reason, of not knowing the "right" answer, because you've never really been honest with him from the start, you are afraid the real reason would reflect poorly on you and/or drive him away, that he'll see beneath the facade to what really motivates you and judge you.

3. You realize he's playing a game, and you don't want to play, so you refuse to answer as a means of control, to end the game.


I've dated women who said things like "I like you so much, I like that you're in my life, you're so great," but their actions don't back it up (they say they like me, but then always cancel dates, they say they love being around me, but never want to hold my hand in public, they say they like me, and tell me they have a boyfriend or are dating others), they're all talk, or it's more like they are reciting a script from a t.v. show...as though they think it's what I want to hear or they are supposed to say.

I've seen women do this to other men a lot too.
Some men just stick around and get laid for a while and dump them.
Other guys start calling them on the BS and ask "why? Why do you say that? If you say you like me, why do you like me?"


If it's out of the blue, like you're in the middle of a pool game, you're laughing and having fun, and he all of a sudden goes calm and asks "why do you like me?" then he's insecure and is looking for reassurance. Either because he has emotional problems, or communication in the relationship sucks.

Otherwise it's a response to inconsistent behavior from the other, saying one thing but behaving in another way.



That's just evading an answer.
Aka being dishonest.
That never bodes well for anything long term.

Maybe he wants to find out what he was doing right..?

You could always pass the ball back and ask him "why do you want to know?", to every question he has.

I think for me when I have asked it or have had it asked. I answer it truthfully and if I am questioned then...
I let them know that they are starting to slide down the hill in like ability.

Then he is too insecure and/or just wants his ego boosted. Anyone who asks, when you answer with the honest truth will accept it and move on. Any one who is secure with themselves won't even ask, they will be ok with the fact that you are there with them. By the time you enter the relationship, you both should know already what it is you like about one another, which is why you entered the relationship to begin with.

You are very young, and assuming the guy is in your age range, it's quite possible that it only just occurred to him that lots of people only THINK they like each other.

I and a lot of other people I've known, went through a stage around then, where we thought we were gaining hugely deep and meaningful insights into humanity in general, because we asked endless "yes but WHY?" questions. The stage usually lasts about one season, before we all started to realize that it was poppycock. And if you've ever actually seen a poppy...well never mind that.

One suggested trick answer, which might also be true:

say "I like you, because you accept the first answer I do give you, as being all you need to know." Followed by an adorable smile.

98.7653% of all heterosexual human males will immediately grin like the idiots we all really are, and stop asking questions right away.
