How important is it to you.. do you take your time and wrap each present..
As though it was wrapped by a professional present wrapper? you know what I mean!! the ones you find at the mall this time of year.. those people that you pay to professionally wrap your present..
Or do you try your best !. but it never seems to come out looking like you really took your time. Lol.. someone told me a little while ago when they cannot really afford Christmas they wrap the presents extra special to make up for it... I thought that was a bit sad but probably true...
. So I guess the question is..
Is the wrapping on the outside just as important as what is in.. the inside..

Personally! I try to take my time.. but I never seem to get it quite right lol so I stick a lot of ribbons and bows on it to compensate for my big thumbs.. I guess..lol

All my nieces and nephews would open my presents first
every Christmas for one reason..

I would always send them at least 2 weeks ahead of time
and each and every present had a wee present outside,
unwrapped, as part of the wrapping...it would drive them
crazy, I know they were thinking..'if that is on
the outside, what must be on the inside?!?'

I love Christmas :-)

I wrap them but I hate doing it.

When the kids were little I used to wrap 'other stuff' along with the gift to break up the shape.

I once stuffed a shirt in an empty paper towel roll that looked like a big tootsie roll.
I've taped ladels, graters, remote controls, a shoe, even a rock to gifts to break up the shape.

Lately (recently) I've started putting multiple gifts in baskets for the women and crates for the men and wrapping that into a huge single gift.

I don't use gift tags.
I use colored posterboard and my printer and construct a huge explosion name tag that I attach like a sign on a coat hanger wire. It wobbles back and forth. They look like the balloons in comic books that say POW! or WHAM!.
When I send cards, I print the envelope with a photo of that person or a scene photo I have. Like a watermark.

Question?
How do you keep from getting tape stuck in your hair?, eyelid?, back of your neck?

I have seen the wrapping they used to do at the malls and stores. That was horrible and not presentable to anyone. And rarely did they use paper or ribbon which looked even nice or that the two even went together.

I love to wrap. I make most of the bows I use out of the wrapping paper and ribbon I use on the present. The ribbon goes with the wrapping paper. And I try to make a bow to go with the person receiving the present. Some people are not easy to do that with, but some people are too easy to make bows for.

My presents do give me away as the gifter, so when it comes to Secret Pals and such, I use bags for that most of the time. But even my bagged gifts aren't that plain.

I make a big deal of wrapping each one beautifuly with paper, ribbons and bows tailored to each recipient. Then I cringe when they rip into it. slaphead
