Well, if you cant "get off" with the one you are with, then you will most likely look to "get off" with someone else. So yeah....I would say sex is important. But that could be an Urban Legend. laugh

Couples have to make love everyday to keep the fire burning. Lovemaking, besides the common understanding of it, is holding hands while walking, cuddling/snuggling while watching tv, exchanging love letters when apart, and so on.

Have to disagree BK6.
After the word understanding, you seem to have all that is necessary.

Physical closeness is more important than sex for a relationship. However, sexual closeness remains a very intimate part of it at the ages you are sexually capable of continuing the sexual relationship. Later on, as you progress through life you go through sexual stages/changes due to for males midlife crisis and testosterone changes in the body. For women having children and going through menopause can affect a woman's sexuality. Therefore both men and women desire it more at certain stages and less at others. Later life when you no longer have the changes that affect each individuals sexuality the physical chemistry of intimate closeness and companionship become more evolved.

Is sex is important to keep a relationship

Depends on the relationship.

tell me your feelings about sex

I love sex, but like I'm not "in" love with sex.

Is sex plays an important role in life..

Yes. Directly and indirectly.
How important seems to be a matter of opinion.

Well, if you're not intimate with your significant other, (unless they are sick or gone for years at a time) you'd have just as much or more fun with just a fishing buddy or shopping companion.

There are exceptions, another four added to the two above.... If the couple is mutually deciding NOT to have intimacy in the first place, it can most definitely work, and still have a binding love.... it's very rare, but it happens... and of-course severe accidents, or paralysis, or war injuries.

people need to be straight with each other, BEFORE a relationship starts, what their level of intimacy is desired.... If it's not a match suitable, it's move on time.... don't settle for less than even on this... it creates hell and resentment eventually.
