A waitress at a Washington D.C. restaurant received a very generous tip and a warm message on her receipt from three men who were in town for President Donald Trump's inauguration.

Rosalynd Harris, who works at Busboys and Poets in the northwest part of the nation's capital, told The Washington Post she was beaming with confidence Monday after taking part in the Women's March over the weekend.

A group of men from west Texas entered the restaurant and started to chat with Harris. One of the men, who said he was a dentist, complimented her on her smile. Harris, who is black, told the Post she was admittedly a bit prejudice when the men, who were white, told her they were in town to support Trump.

However, Harris didn't expect what would come next.

After the men had left, Harris picked up their check and found that they left a heartwarming message and a generous tip. They left Harris a $450 tip on a $72.60 bill. Their message read:

"We may come from different cultures and may disagree on certain issues, but if everyone would share their smile and kindness like your beautiful smile, our country will come together as one people. Not race. Not gender. Just American. God Bless!"

Harris said she was overwhelmed.

"You automatically assume if someone supports Trump that they have ideas about you, but [the customer is] more embracing than even some of my more liberal friends, and there was a real authenticity in our exchange," she told the paper.

Harris added that the message was a great reminder not to make assumptions and that many Americans want the country to come together regardless of politics.

I really don't care who likes who. Every president has critics. My issue is how far it has gone this time

That is awesome only if others would realize regardless who you vote for, we all want good things for this Country.....

I have seen so many fighting and arguing cause of who someone voted for it is a let down, that many can not understand we all have a voice.

Just that many of us do not see things the same way as the next person... Kind of like Religion it's best to be left out of the conversation unless you are in a group where they see things the way you do... whoa

Hi MightyMoe,
Interesting article as always.
What do you think? Is Mr.Trump a huge change for the better taking in consideration what's happening right now all over the place...you know the protesters and people complaining in general...

my thoughts is that people have nothing to complain about (yet, maybe)... he's been president for about a week and seems to be doing things as he said he would, which is way more than obarry did in 8 years as president...

the left are just sore losers, and are mad about following the laws that are set and hadn't been enforced...

i say give the man a chance and see what happens, but as per lefties, i already see the stupid talk of impeachment...

A waitress at a Washington D.C. restaurant received a very generous tip and a warm message on her receipt from three men who were in town for President Donald Trump's inauguration.

I wonder what the waitress's response would be if the tip was the standard 15-20%, and what it would be if the tip was 10% or less.

give the man a chance and see what happens

lol...that seems eerily similar to "we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what’s in it..."

seems to be doing things as he said he would, which is way more than obarry did in 8 years as president.

Obama attempted or did a lot of what he promised during his elections.
What he/democrats said would be the benefits didn't materialize to the extent promised while all the consequences the tea party/conservatives/republicans talked/warned about were worse than expected.

I don't think they are necessarily Trump haters. I think they never in a million years expected Trump to win and Clinton to lose. They thought it was a lock. And they were ( and still are) shocked... stunned. How else do you explain " silly putty classes and group meetings to try to deal with the Clinton lose.

Because before the election you heard a lot of " let the best people win" from both sides, but that tone change when Clinton lost. What was really meant was from them was" let the best person win.. as long as it is Clinton.

And some really ugly heads rose after her lose.

No offense, it's a nice story, but it's hardly characteristic.

We've got all kinds, no matter the group label.

Charles Manson is a stranger, and I hate him. Same with that weasel who raped that girl on the California campus and got away with it. I hate him too.

Oh, come on. You know you aren't talking about the same thing. The people you list and hate aren't STRANGERS, they are well known criminals.

The strangers referred to, again as I think you know well, are ACTUAL STRANGERS. As in people who you don't know anything about at all, but are prejudiced for or against anyway.

I'm totally with you give the man a chance
Personally i was hoping that he win this even started to tell my ankles that he will win despite all the propaganda surrounding his campaign . He promised to make the number one priority America and the Americans so set back and observe if he deliver ,most commonly he will face Kennedys sentence if he did accomplish half of his promises specially if he crosses the red lines of .........
And i don't mean what you thinking of
