everyone has different strengths and weaknesses and love has always fueled the sex, for me,, instead of the other way around


so, on the purely physical level, there are many things I 'miss' about that one who was naturally phenomenal in bed

but on the level of the actual intimacy of a 'lover',, the emotional AND physical,,,,I look forward to exploring our own phenomenal experiences with a lover who is as open to listening and learning as I am,,,



so, no, it isnt so much as I would ever compare, but I take certain 'lessons' and incorporate them into the new relationship

I used to have a boyfriend who compared me to his ex, which is partly why he is now my ex! I believe if you find yourself comparing, it's a good indication that you still have unresolved issues concerning the last relationship. Either that or you are only in it for purely physical reasons and those types of relationships seldom last.

As far as your question goes concerning the physical attributes and whether I find myself missing certain parts of my old lover with a new lover, my answer is no, at least I haven't done so in the past....I don't have a current lover . That would be like comparing apples to oranges. We are all unique and have our own special qualities. I much rather focus on discovering the uniqueness of who I am with than thinking about someone I used to be with.

Compare? Not really. If he cannot make me happy that way for whatever reason, I will start to wonder if I can live with that or not.

As for body / body type... I don't think I ever found myself thinking, darn, he doesn't have this, or he does have that (and my ex didn't/did).
To me it's like beginning a new book that you're eager to read. I explore and like, and I come to like and love his body because it is his. That includes any so called 'flaws' as well.

Not sure if it is a typical woman thing or a typical 'me' thing, but generally speaking thinking about an ex's body does nothing for me. It'd sooner be a turnoff than a turn-on even if his body turned me on tremendously at the time.
That's because the love has gone.

If it's a sex-date-only, different story. Then it's all about the outside, so you focus solely on a body. There is no mental / emotional arousal, because it's only a sex date. So if then the body doesn't please the eye and trigger the 'cogs'... you got nothing.

This is one of those questions or concerns that should not be answered or dealt with in a simple way. By anyone concerned.

You have to make an active decision to indulge in "missing" a past lover. Memories may come unbidden, but "missing someone" (or some thing) requires that you invest both time and emotions. The more of yourself you invest in the person who's gone, the more distance you create between yourself and the person who is here now.

If you find yourself actively "missing" a previous lover in any way, often enough, it translates to the present, and turns into a real problem that you have with the present person. That person WILL sense that, in some way, and the fact that you indulge yourself by pining for someone else, will cause problems now.

If something about the latest person is noticeably different and less attractive to you than a previous person, and you do anything more than note it in passing and move on to focusing on the person here now, you might as well break things off and find someone else.

for me it has always been a step up in my relationships i tend to appreciate who i am with at present because i can see the difference from my past,how it made me feel and where i am happier.

Yes,, I compare them AND grade them monthly.. its a 100 point check list.. Just Like Pep Boys Auto repair uses when you bring your car in for a tune up.

If they get less then 70% acceptable or are showing too much wear and tear, they have one month to fix the problems.. or they are out.
