I've seen some real grace here and some very poignant thoughts, evocative questions worth exploring,...a sort of a safety zone.

Oh yes, we are so brave "here". There is little repercussion.

I have on occasion taken subjects outside the bubble.

I'm interested about the outside world.
Have you taken these subjects into the lunchroom? Into happy hours with workmates and friends?

Let me guess.

"I AM who I AM and say what I feel
.yada, yada."

I see very few evocative questions any more. Most of the truly pertinent, to this medium, questions have been asked and answered thousands of times. There is an occasional original thought that might evoke some interest, but most of the evocative questions are usually asked by someone with a very skewed perspective. Generally, those people are tiresome and come across like Charlie Brown's teacher playing a broken record.

So age doesn't or does matter?

Sorry Waterloo lol,.I so agree in certain ways.

However completely respect and respond to many perspectives here. There ARE many insightful folks here!

In itself I don't have a problem with that, but the timing has to be right, it has to be congruent with the group, and stuff that is being talked about.

On Mingle there's almost always someone who resonates with it -good or bad-
because you got a much larger, 'multicoloured' audience than at happy hour and/or with friends.

Sometimes, although I have to admit I would do it a lot more if I was still smoking and listening to Floyd.

I quite fancied myself as the next Nostradamus back then. Peace ya'll.

Yep! Every day around the water cooler someone asks, "what do you think of long distance relationships?" laugh

When I'm slowly reeling in the perspective buyer,
for Bessie, who has raiesed a dozen calves, and is basically beef jerky on hooves.
I put my hand on his shoulder, and ask,
"Does age really matter"?

I write like I talk.
I've never really had a problem keeping other's interest while talking.

Just recently I met a woman that is very interested in forming a long-term intimate relationship with me. We spent the day together and did some talking.

Many of the subjects I participate in here came up and we discussed them at length but with a personal slant. She blurted out "I Love You" and that set me back. She doesn't know me well enough to love me, not yet.

Come to find out, by talking, that she has never had someone that treats her like a person, respects her opinions or even allows her to talk. That everyone just seems to want something. She saw me being me and fell in love with my ability to be a friend.

In answer to your question. These subjects are often not lunchroom or workplace subjects but when the person I am with is in a situation where it calls for it, then yes. But it is a personal conversation not a group announcement.

think it is true we tend to get a bit burned out seeing same questions over and over and over
so we tend to answer with sarcasm

I resemble that remark, lol,. Seriously though, many people are new and have not looked at all the post before they themselves post. All of us have been new at one time or another and appreciated the warmth and charm of others that have responded to the said post.... I myself am new and trying to build trust in the forums. So if someone asks the same question that has already been answered in the past, just try to remember what it was like when you first started posting. Cheers,

Everything in life is an element of everything else in life, to me, so yes of course.

But then I'm the kind of person who sees occasional connections that aren't all that direct. Like using something about my knowledge of ancient warfare, to solve a repair problem on a machine, or using something I learned from the experience of sweeping floors, to sort out psychological or philosophical issues.

The thoughts inside my head really shouldn't see the light of day...

The question is... is knowing that thoughts should remain thoughts the definition of sanity?spock
