 Yes I do, very much so but it doesn't govern who I am as a person. I care about people in general so this attracts like minded folks my way. It's a delicate balance of life, flip off the world and you'll get it back 10 fold... I walk the planet lightly, footprints instead of deep crevice stomps. Pull instead of pushes, it just works better for me this way. I'm not perfect and sometimes the opposite rears its ugly head, just ask a few minglers here  |

I find it hard as I've had a bleed on my brain which means at the moment I walk with a walking which makes people look at me differently and it's hard to find love because people just look at that and don't get to know, they don't know what I've had to overcome and achieve, I'm still the same person inside and outside still an ugly b#stard Welcome adamsimmo. I can see why it would be hard to dismiss others opinions of you if they are fequently negative about yiur situation. I hope you find people who embrace you as you deserve . Goid luck

I've had a bleed on my brain which means I walk with a walking stick for the time people look at me differently and it's hard to find love as nobody gets to know me , they don't know what I've had to overcome and achieved, I'm still the same person inside and out still ugly The little laugh is for the 'ugly ' bit I think most of us are guilty of looking at someone who has a disability of some kind, in your case I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for you not to have the chance to explain your circumstances ,how it happened, what you're going through etc. So, So in your case I'd feel it does matter to some degree what people think. People can be very judgemental, not that it has $hit to do with them. So good luck mate and enjoy the forums In total agreement with you mikey :) |

Even tho I may say I don't care I do to a point.. But that is mainly when it comes to my kids and close family.... But in reality the older I get the less I care what anyone thinks of me. As long as I'm not hurting anyone else it is none of their business..... I beat my own drum and follow the path I choose too...  Hummm guess I should have worded that stroke my own ego But then that don't sound right either  |

People ARE NEGATIVE TO ME MY DOCTOR SAID TO ME IN HOSPITAL THAT I WOULDNT WALK AGAIN MY SOCIAL WORKER SAID I SHOULD LOWER MY EXPECTATIONS AND ALL IT DOES IS SPURN ME ON TO PROVE THEM WRONG,they said I wouldn't be able to live on my own without help, I'm now walking without my walking stick, so called experts round me are negative I won't be beaten I could tell you so much more but I am not negative

Whose opinion has enough power to influence your actions? no and no one only possible exception is an authority figure who, for example, asks me to do something at work or in my building But on a personal level no one , really never has been but I am really nice though |

I use to, long ago, but then I excepted that no one I found even remotely attractive wants anything to do with me. After that epiphany I became less stressed and happier. If someone doesn't like me they can get in line with all the other people I've known. Im rather inclined to agree with you on this DHblue . I know all the pundits of positive thinking are going to roast us over the coals and please kids... dont try this at home... but when I anticipate the posibility of rejection,.i actually get pleasantly surprised when Im not, and when I am in fact rejected , it doesnt hurt as much cuz I already mentally prepared for the possibility :) I've never not been rejected, but your right it doesn't hurt as much when you expect it. |
