1982 a year when Britain went to war with Argentina to take back the Falkland Islands, the IRA bombed London killing soldiers and horses.
A year of striking over pay, a year when ford ended production of the cortina and deloren was making a mint! Protest camps at greenham common where the us and nato had based hundreds of nuclear cruise missiles and ET came out, I wonder if he's home yet? What was going on for you? |

I wasn't born back then, but as long as it has to do with history and politics, 1982 was a year full of incidents in the Middle East,bloody clashes between the Syrian governmental forces and the terrorist organization of the Muslims Brotherhood, the Lebanese civil war was reaching a new level of violence with the Israeli invasion, air and land battles between Israeli and Syrian forces, the American interfere and the Marines barracks bombing later...

The year of 1982 was when I just got in an elementary school. I was very skinny and short. The teacher put my disk at the very first line of the classroom.

I think about facing my 14yo self telling me....
 "YOU'RE A TOTAL SELLOUT MAN!" .... as I watch golf (US OPEN) with Pops on Father's Day. We'd both be appalled and proud at the same time!

I was in grade 3 still so young to be aware of what's really happening with the real world.....our innocence protects us from the cruelty of the world then ... Free spirited children , no worries, life is all play, play and play
  Life is good when you're still young and innocent....but sadly, the world of today is so different from the world of 1980's... So many children are suffering now, victims of a chaotic world

I was 16... I remember the Falklands, feeling quite shocked that there was actually a war. Kind of unreal.
I finished secondary school, got my diploma, went to the next school... ended up doing the wrong study for 3 years cos someone at administration effed up and I was too shy to have it corrected  Standing up for myself has never been my forté... My parents split, both had new partners real soon after, so my life was turbulent that year to say the least... |

Finished my doctorate in Georgia went to work in a mental health clinic for six months and after many years in Georgia returned to Houston and found work in clinics, University of Houston and private practice, then the murder of my mother and the death soon after of my father...
