Childhood summer mornings waking up to the sound of Mom’s humming little ditties as she hung the laundry on the line. I would lay there for a few minutes before getting up just to enjoying the cool mimosa scented breeze floating in the window. I wish I could get that mimosa scent on my clothes still today.

July the 8th, 1986 at 20:30 (8:30pm). When I held my firstborn and he saw me and smiled. At that moment I knew I was a dad.

One of my most fond memories is seeing my son perform on stage for the first time :) I think he was about 17-18 yrs old, Rage Against the Machine, Killing in the Name of. I still get goosebumps all over my body whenever I hear that song :)

Seeing my daughter in a Christmas play in school, I think she was maybe 4 or 5.

I think we must all have quite a few.

Seeing Ayers Rock (Uluru) again after having been away from home for 6 weeks to get my visa extended. Why the heck that had to take so long I don't know.

A ton of very very very dear memories of all the people I met in Australia, particularly at Ayers Rock. Rangers, nurses, Aboriginals, co-workers, my Canadian roommate. I best not dwell on it, or I'll be in tears, even after 30 years.

I did not have kids until late in life.

My son was premature so I wasn't able to hold him in my arms
until the next day. The feeling was overwhelming that tears
just welled from my eyes and soon I was sobbing. This tiny
baby is my son and I turned to my husband and said "Thank you
for giving me a son." And my husband said "You're welcome."
In my mind I thought "You're welcome? You're welcome????"
What a dimwitted answer!!! Our son was also his first born son.
Why is this nincompoop not as overwhelmed as I am? the thought
screamed loudly in the head. It almost broke the spell but it
was my most tender moment so nobody could take that away from me.

I just filed the dimwitted answer under "P" for Promises. I promise
to get back to you on this and it's not going to be pretty.
