And the bottom tier will continue to work for slave wages as long as our government rolls over and gives our money away in bad deals and as Trump keeps exposing the stupidity of past administrations we find out that the past presidents that we thought more highly of than Trump were the real idiots, colluders and some members of deep state who could care less what meager slave wages people were having to live on ..just as long as they could make themselves and those around them rich while maintaining control

interesting.

what is THIS administration doing differently than the 'idiots, colluders and deep state' about meager wages people live on, and NOT making themselves and those around them rich while maintaining control?

as far as different than other 'idiots, colluders, and deep state' who dont care about meager wages and try to line the pockets of their rich friends (and family) ...

I dont see the difference, which is why I was asking for the distinction to be cleared up.

Wrong, the tariff imbalance has been slowly eroding away at our country. It's a big part of why it's in the mess it's in, every president for quite some time has ignored the problem. President Trump is doing what needs to be done. Healthcare is a nightmare, nobody will be able to come up with a good plan unless they can drive healthcare costs way down. Obama putting it in the government's hands just built more costs into it.

I think "same ole same ole" was reference to certain politicians and policy makers not caring about what wage the common man has to live off of and doing what they can to continue lining the pockets of their rich friends and family instead. I see this admin just as guilty of the charge as any before has been.

But can you be more specific in explaining this 'tariff imbalance' and how the 'erosion' manifests?

It's to the point now that we are working an hour for a gallon of milk & a loaf of bread. What about eggs?....another 1\2 hour. Explanation: idiot's are driving industry out and wages down:arrow_lower_right::arrow_down::arrow_lower_left:.

IM not sure where that is, but in Vegas, It costs me about five dollars for a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread and the least I have earned is 10 dollars an hour, which would be thirty minutes of work.

but back to the point, what is THIS ADMINISTRATION doing differently to change it than others have?

there have been several different approaches:

The tax bill has reduced taxes for those who work and pay taxes.

The tax bill has leveled the corporate playing field and will bring some back and encourage others not to leave.

The trade adjustments will encourage some products created outside the US to come back inside the country. Thus some jobs near the lower economic scale will be created and at a higher income.

One of the problems the administration hasn't figured out an answer to is the huge difference in cost of living throughout the country. There has to be a way to connect after tax income with the cost of living in a local area. In some parts of the country a couple each earning $10/hour have a decent life; in others, they can't even afford the basics.

other administrations have also done these things, and have also not figured out how to keep cost of living consistent throughout the country. It is a complex issue that I hope does not get worse with automation, outsourcing and not TECHNOLOGY and AI replacing the purpose and livelihood of so many people.

Sure, the U.S. charges much less on goods coming into the country than other countries charge on U.S. goods going into their countries. Our products have a hard time competing in other markets because our products cost way too much with high tariffs tacked onto the prices. They send products here and have very little tariff tacked on, that combined with incredibly cheap labor from China in particular make it impossible for a lot of U.S. businesses to compete with the costs of Chinese products. So we have businesses that don’t survive, or they have their products made in China to survive. For years more and more manufacturing businesses have died or moved out of the country. Someone had to work on fixing these tariffs, it’s finally being worked on, of course it’s not popular with countries that have been cashing in on our self destructive tariffs.
