you havent explained how kids doing what they 'shouldnt' do with authorities justifies a death penalty.

one last time Miss Harmony, Im going to say this slowly for you

Teenagers are always doing things they shouldn't be doing, they wouldn't be kids if they weren't.

Except that shooting people isn't one of them, selling drugs isn't one of them, being in gangs or criminal organizations isn't of them

are you with me so far?

since you are an individual you should then realize that teens with guns shoot at police or witnesses.

When law enforcement is confronted with a possible shooter they dont take chances anymore they dont know if the teen would shoot them if cornered or not?

Is it unfortunate that the kid got shot? yes.
but when you are involved with guns, that isnt something normal teens are involved with.

do you get that?

Saying that he was shot in the back without putting all the pieces together is intellectually dishonest.

If that angelic teen was coming back from church, or a charity or playing ball and he was shot well I would be the first to contribute to the families legal defense fund and hope they sue the azz off of the officer and department.

But I look at the whole situation.

I wonder how the person/persons they shot are doing?

none of which are things they generally do unarmed and running AWAY from the potential victim ...

and none of which justify being summarily executed in the street trying to RUN AWAY.

How do you shoot someone when you are unarmed? Oh wait, you can't. That's why the police didn't take any chances.

You cant shoot them WHILE your unarmed, thats the point. People may be ARMED and UNARMED at different times on the continuum of time moving forward

okay, this will be a long day I see... good Lord

I want to ask you something and be honest, Im sure youre going to make this sound that Im stereo typing and being a bigot.

If you were walking down a street with your best female friend and here is the following scenario

A group of young black teens was approaching you would think nothing of it or clutch your purse stick close to your friend and pray nothing happens?

what would you think? what is going through your mind?

What if a group of white skin head teens or adults was approaching you?

What about a group of clean cut suburbanites teens , black ,white mixed in? would you clutch your purse or pay them no mind

I bet if you saw a group of well dressed black businessmen you wouldn't even give it a second thought

tell us what you think and the honest truth .

it would depend on how they were acting. If they were talking to each other laughing, not cursing, whatever color, I would not think anything of it or clutch my purse or stay close to my friend and 'pray nothing happens'.

I have many 'young black teens' in my family who hang out together and I have been around them far too often to assume the worst just because of 'young black teens' being together.

Same with a group of white kids or adults, I am not sure if being bald means being a skinhead, im not sure how to identify a skinhead.

same with 'clean cut(I suppose that refers to their choice of clothes and asthetics) kids, depends on how they were carrying themselves as they approached.

and same with well dressed men of any color, if they were not ACTING as a threat, I would not feel threatened, if they were, I would

ahhh so it would depend, and I actually agree with this.
If I see a bunch of black teens a few in athletic gear carrying sports equipment I wouldn't think twice.

If I seen a bunch of teens who are cursing and being boisterous and dressed like thugs I would be concerned.

And as in bald and in skin heads if you cant tell the difference between a white racists skin head and an actual bald person dressing normal then I know you are truly naive.

Most modern white supremacist skinheads dress the same vs the traditional Trojan skinheads into British ska music.

So bottom line is it all depends on what they do?

interesting.

there are tons of racist skinheads here in Canada, although theyre in pockets and Ive had my battle including physical altercation and this is why Im also a fan of police, when My brother and was confronted by a group 20 years ago I did some damage to one and the police were called, it was a racial strife they started.

and we finished it, the police were called all of us apprehended and the police saw it for what it was and asked us if we wanted to have them charged and of course the one wanted me arrested for breaking his nose.

if the police were racists my azz would have been arrested even though there was 5 of them and 2 of us.

Thank God I was brought up to respect authority instead of saying look what these beepity beeps try and do , we told them we defended ourselves the police saw that we didnt give them attitude and they found a witness that backed up what were saying.

my point dont believe everything you hear about law enforcement, most are good law abiding hard working people, sure you have a few azz wipes and maybe the cop that shot him was, I dont know but what I do know is he has the right to make a judgement call his life over that running thug life.

Yes you are going be upset with me for calling the kid a thug, I dont know what else to call a 17 year old involved in a prior shooting, I dont care what colour his skin is.

yes. there are azz wipes, like the ones that shoot unarmed kids in the back when they run away. What part of 'running away' puts the person being 'run away' from at risk for their life?

Let me share some other Azz wipe stories.

my eldest brother, playing in the yard with OUR dog, home from college, going in the house wiht OUR dog, having police three cars deep with guns drawn at the door to question why he was there ... could have gone very poorly, and some would insist it justified based on whether they viewed him as 'thug' or compliant enough to warrant not being executed

my youngest brother, on a bus and mistaken for 'fitting the description' tackled and detained by UNDERCOVER(not in uniform cops) with guns, also could have gone poorly and excused for some because of whether he was compliant enough to warrant being executed

Myself, being in the car with a white male who was pulled over after we left a club and he drove around a pothole, originally pulled over for suspicious driving, and then as the passenger asking me for drivers license and subjecting me to THREE different types of sobriety tests even though I hadnt had a drink.

My mom, being pulled over in her Brand New New Yorker at the time, on the expressway, by a cop that saw her 'slow down' before getting on an exit ramp (which you are supposed to do by the way) and then lecturing her about talking to passengers while she drove.

My oldest brother being pulled over for being 'suspicious' , even though he is retired military, doctor, who had a book in his hand.

but none of this is about azzholes in uniforms abusing authority, just good old people defending their 'lives' I'm sure

Those are horrible stories and incidents and Im not denying it doesn't happen.

It sucks.

but you have your experience and I have mine

I personally dont like the State of Mississippi, Ive been there 5 times and each time something bad has happened.

Now I was going back and forth with this poster who remain anonymous basically said it was the aura I was giving off and she had a point

I cant stand that state that I refuse to even drive through it anymore, I will fly from Florida to Texas vs driving.

my point is I dont have that many bad experiences visiting America where Ive stayed for months at a time.

Yes visiting isn't the same as living but the experience is still the same.

how many times have I been hassled by the American police? not once.
And Ive been coming to America since I was 18

3 times Ive been stopped by police when driving, one in NYC, one in Jacksonville Florida and one Dallas Texas, no tickets, no harassment etc.

I told this woman on the thread this story where I was stopped by New York police on my way to Madison square gardens to watch my Toronto Maple leafs play his new York rangers he was a rangers fan and me being a leaf fan we ended up teasing each other over it, and he let me off with a warning and told me to slow down ahead because another officer was there.

he didn't have to do that, Im sure if I gave him attitude he might not have been cordial, I also dont dress like a thug either, I dont speak in Ebonics ( no Im stereo typing)just laying out facts.

so I can only give you my experience

I got a new red probe. I was pulled over twice the first day I got it. I hadn't done anything wrong and showed my license and ins. I don't hate cops because of it. It's their job. Cops patrol places with bars and drug infested areas. Want to get pulled over? Drive through the area. I live in an area where people have lived for decades and raised families. Cops don't come here much because we aren't selling drugs or shooting up the place.
I live on a farm. One night I heard something and shot through the woods a couple times. Cops cane out because someone reported a domestic dispute. I told him there wasn't a man here for me to fight with. He was nice and checked around my shop and barn then left.

This is why reversible dashcams are so popular here.

A friend of mine was asked by a cop: "Is that on?" When he said yes, the cop told it was illegal. So he PRETENDED to turn it off. Everything went fine, but his attorney said it was not illegal.

Ms H you hate cops because you were taught to. Everything they do must be because you are black. 3 cars at your house asking your brother who he was sounds like a nosy neighbor called the cops. But instead of being glad they came out to make sure your house wasn't being robbed, your pissed because it must be the color of your skin. You are doing the same thing to your kids that was done to you.

I do not hate cops. I was not taught to hate anyone. As I have stated, we were taught hate was a four letter word and didnt even use it.

Everything they do is not because I am black. When I got pulled over for running a stop sign or for having a busted light, for example. Being pulled over for 'slowing down' before an exit however ... is suspect.

I am pissed that ANYONE would have guns drawn on them for being in their own HOME because that situation can turn deadly so easily over NOTHING.

Yes. I am teaching my kids to be aware of implicit racial and socioeconomic bias and in positions of power and the reason for them to be EXTRA Cautious with those in authority to not give them any of the list of long reasons to feel they are being 'threatening' or 'non compliant' in any way.

So 3 cop cars just happened to be at your house for no reason? Like I said I've had it to happen and it was a nosy neighbor. I wasn't taught to hate the police and explained I heard someone messing around the shop. He was nice and checked it out. After he left, I started thinking about how I would feel knocking on a door at night after someone reported me shooting a gun. Like I said before, you've been taught hate. You should have been glad cops were making sure your house wasn't being robbed.
And so what if you were give a sobriety test. Cop watch certain areas. You should be glad they are trying to keep drunks off the road.

no. They most likely came for 'suspicious' person. A nosy neighbor would know that he was FAMILY. I havent been taught hate. I havent been the one advocating for peoples deaths based on their food stamps or alleged crimes.

THAT is hate.

Last time we went to see a band play, I went around and made sure we had a dd for each car. I know that the police watch that area. As we left a cop car got behind us. We had sober drivers and we didn't have a problem.
If you live in a crime infested area police will be patrolling. That just makes sense.
I have a friend who got a ticket for an expired tag. She didn't even know it was expired. She was taking a coworker home in an area known for selling drugs. They stopped her because they thought she was there to buy drugs. She didn't run and took her ticket. It's the police job to check people. You've been taught you get pulled over because of your skin.

Who reported the suspicious person? My neighbors should have know my son and his dad work nights and me and my daughter are home alone. But they didn't. Like I saud, you should be grateful the police was checking to make sure your house wasn't being robbed. But your hate that has grown since childhood won't let you.
