Hello members. A friend and I were discussing this topic the other day. We concluded that men age better than women on average. After 40 most women are going down hill fast. There are exceptions to the rule of course. At work I know of several guys who are looking after a sick wife at home. What are your thoughts? Agree or disagree? Perhaps having children takes years off some. How ever I know of some women who have had 4 children and still in pretty good shape.

Women age better than men. If there comes a health problem on a woman or man it can take a toll on their Life. Many women prefer to date Younger men than themselves because Older men are broken down and non active..

So I disagree!

It is hard to say. Biologically speaking, women's bodies go through much more change if they bear children then men will ever have to. However, with the pressure on women to look a certain way being so much more than what is on men, I think men can feel comfortable enough in their own skin more often to not really pay much attention to the appearance part of it. And men who drink to excess with the beer guts or women that drink to excess with hagard appearances.

And then, there are women who spend way too much time burning up their skin who dont age well, or who live in too much skin damaging make up or cosmetic procedures to age well, and men who spend too much time stretching their muscles who dont age well either.

So it all comes down to the individuals choice for taking care of themself. And I cant say whether men or women, in general, are more likely to make that choice.

Men "age better than women" because in this society..an older, greying, wrinkling guy is considered "distinguished", and still in demand..whether he is rich or poor.

Women, on the other hand...once they show a bit of age/ grey/ wrinkles...they are practically invisible to people, and the male gender in particular.

Sad...so sad..

Hummm really funny for most men that are my age 60 looks like they are 70....

I've seen a lot of guys that are in their late 40's that look like they are in their late 50's....

What I have noticed is men age faster then women do.... whoa

It is pretty much accepted by most people that a man can have a big beer belly , while his wife or girlfriend has to look great . When a woman has that same beer belly , they are scorned .

I think its about the same for both however, how well you have taken care of yourself is a huge factor.

If you took care of yourself in your earlier year you tend to appear to age less quickly. If you continue to take care of yourself, your inside health well continue to be good but, your outside will as mother nature has its way will eventually start to show signs of aging it is nature at its best.

It really doesn't matter how one looks on the outside as much as how one feels and actually is on the inside that should matter. Yes looks are nice but, not the only thing to consider.

After all it is what's on the inside that is what one really falls in love with or at least should be.

Just my two cents.

Genetics and lifestyle play a role in aging.

Gender, not so much.

I think that GRAVITY takes a harder toll on women than it does on men. laugh

but I also think that LIFE takes a harder toll on men's bodies, than it does on women's,as men generally do harder/more manual labor, which makes them age faster, and causes more physical problems on down the line.

things like 'smoking',and 'drinking',and 'diet' are also big contributing factors, though!

CUZ,as I have said MANY times...

just like with a used car,it is not the AGE nearly as much as it is THE MILEAGE!!!

Women tend to be able to multi task better than men. Somehow that became expected and adds to stress. Women seem more likely to follow healthy living and checkups with doctors. I think it's possible that many women are expected to do so much and have stress, more than they should.

Best answer genetics and life-style. In the future we will be gene editing to have the best we can get. I believe some nut in Germany years ago was thinking this with his "master-race" idea. Selective breeding.
