ok well im definately not a scammer and i do have a studio pic in my profile but i also have other pics including a current pic.

Also Instead of being annoyed at what they are calling you instead be grateful that they are responding your profile.

What gets me is that by not reading my profile and only looking at the photo they can tell how smart I am.

And I don’t know about women but guys, please when I look at your photo I don’t want to look up your nose. Please hold the camera a little higher.

I think it's really common on dating sites for people to email
strictly because of a picture. If it irks you delete and move on.
As far as young "looki loo's" those are more than likely scammers,
however your a good looking guy and given your interest based on
your pictures and profile, I wouldn't be surprised if younger
women contact you, you seem like a fun guy. I do suggest you
edit your profile, you have several oopses (typos) other than that keep posting in the forums, it's a great way to get to know people

New on the site and do make my share of mistakes or is all my fault.
Open a search, scroll, see a promising headline, scroll to read more, o dear nothing and by all means there are almost nothing to fill in anyway so second opt to look at photos, yes/no

So do you even consider messaging a profile without information and only a few photos to go on. Maybe that's the gamble trough the dice.

However as I said am new there are a feature I noticed no one has on or doesn't know about. On the bottom of your edit profile under the tab about one can select: Show testimonials when other users view your profile? And Show your friends list when other users view your profile, isn't this a great tool to see before hand if it's a unwelcome profile?

because I haven't the first clue what, if anythig at all we'd have in common, so there's no reason to message them....

That'd make about as much sense as dialing random numbers and hoping you get someone intersting on the phone...

As far as your last part about "testimonials" and "friends lists"..
I don't want to read someone's opinion on someone based on possibly a bad expareince where one or the other was having a bad day...
I mean..if I go to a restaurant and recieve shi**y service or the food is bad..I don't give a bad review...i wait and try a differemt time first...they could have been having problems in the kitchen or something, so i won;t base my opinion on a one-off bad experience.

Or maybe they are just trying to be a jerk....lots of those on these dating sites.
And, my friends on here are *my* business....not someone elses...

I don't read profiles all that often either, but it is because I'm more interested in the person behind the profile than reading a bunch of silly cliches and empty words that tell me nothing.

If somesone's profile is a canned, most likely copypasted "bunch of silly cliches and empty words" I am not interested in trying to get to know them..

Surely you (the *generic* you) could come up with *something* original.
"Walks on the beach"..when the nearest beach is 400+ miles away....and "loves to laugh"...
