The other day, my HRM lecturer told us to brainstorm, write down the process of boiling an egg and then give a group presentation afterwards.

It literally took us minutes to write down few steps, yet we skipped many (we are guys, init?). Our bad! No one in class asked him how much he wanted his egg cooked.

It is amazing how easy boiling an egg may seem.

Thumbs up to authors of Cook/recipe books.

When you're young you can just use this:

What did the egg say to the water?

You get hot, I'll get hard and we'll be done in 3 minutes.

Place the egg on the counter.
Put some water in a pot and put it on the stove with heat under it.
Wrap the egg in a $50 bill and sprinkle some gold dust on it.
Place the now properly prepared egg into the water.
Boil till all the water is gone.
Remove the egg, unwrap it, throw the egg away and eat the now soft $50 bill.

I have found this works every single time.
(What, yer not going to eat a baby chicken are you!)

Really simple put water in a pot enough to cover the top egg about 1-2 inches... bring it to a full boil for a couple minutes... take it off the heat cover with lid for 11 minutes.. then put eggs in a bowl of Ice cold water that has been sitting for a couple minutes.. leave in the cold water about 3 minutes and then start peeling... If you find some harder to peel make sure you break the shell real good and let it sit in the water for a bit while peeling the others..helps the shell to come off easier..

If your yoke has a greenish tint to it, you've over cooked it. It should be a solid yellow in color.

To get that, put your eggs in a pan of water, deep enough to cover them. If one floats, throw it away; it's bad. Add about a tbs of vinegar, to prevent cracking while boiling.

Bring water to a boil, take away from heat. Leave in water for about 10 to 12 minutes. Pour water out, pack eggs in ice. The ice shocks the membrane to shell and makes it easy to peel.

The best results for boiled eggs are not the freshest ones, better they are a bit old.

Too good Tom. Sadly such are not available here. I live in a one horse town the horse got up and left. Nearest grocery store is 16 miles away but there is good news in that. I can go in three different directions for that drive. *chuckles*

You peeps spend a lot of time with your eggs..
when all you need do is add them to cold water,
place on stove, heat to boiling and cook 3 minutes.

Perfect every time (add or diminish time for
more/less firm eggs.)
