Do you live in a town where you can buy fireworks? I do. I heard the first fireworks today for 4th of July. It starts early.

I live at the beach, coincidentally the same beach where
they set off the annual city fireworks on the 4th.

The bad news is, because it is the beach people start setting
off fireworks a week ahead of time and then about a week after.

And they scare pets to death.

I watched a fireworks display one year in Idaho Falls and I was really close to where they were set off. Great display.

Yeah, they set them off here across the Bay, towards me..
pretty spectacular, one year there were 40k people at the
beach to watch them. Their campfires were choking but
it was nice because they used up all the dead wood at the
beach ;-)

Where I live they have fireworks tents multiple times a year.
Even during Mardi Gras.
Fourth of July is awesome and ya don't have to spend a dime.
50 Miles of beaches packed with people that spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars on fireworks.
Its really amazing.
You can drive down Hwy 90 from Biloxi to Bay St Louis and see constant fireworks.
Plus there are annual festivals and carnivals dotted along the coast.
My favorites are the balls and the saturn rockets.
Ever throw a spinner in the air?

I live in the boonies, well outside city limits.
Not sure exactly when the sale of fireworks
becomes legal each year.

Outside of city limits = no noise ordinance.
Which means, a few set off fireworks throughout
the year.

They have a kick-*** display on the mighty Mississip from a barge, so it's covered as a show, but to get good personal fireworks, I think we have to travel to another state. They mostly have the "safe" ones here from what I have seen.

Here in Nevada you can only buy them on Indian Reservations, and trust me they are the good kind ;)

Fireworks are still available in Minnesota. They are tame can not be airborne only sparks on the ground and pops and no bottle rockets or firecrackers.

I've lived in states where you can't buy fireworks. People would drive to another state to buy fireworks.

I still find it weird that things can vary so much in different states, hihi.
Over here such things are taken care of by law, so nation-wide.
I didn't know you could buy fireworks in the US.
Over here you can, although years back there were more safety regulations: safe fireworks only, which is still a relative term isn't it.
And the storage in shops got a helluva lot stricter since we had that horrible incident in a city where a storage exploded.
Now shops need to have a special kind of vault for it.
Some people still get illegal fireworks, either from Belgium or they find their way into the country from Eastern Europe.

More and more people are wanting the private setting off fireworks to become forbidden.
To be honest, I'm one of them. I'd never thought I'd say that, haha. But people cannot control the liberties they get. Sick & tired of kids turning the village (country) into a semi-warzone noise-wise for weeks on end.

Totally banned here for individuals. Only those that got permits for the big shows are allowed to set off fireworks for all to see..in town even some of the rural areas have banned them due to fires..

If you get caught with them here it is up to a $2,000 fine.. I have not bought fireworks in over 10 years...

They do have a lot of Fireworks shows that all can go watch...

Many still buy them just have to go outside of the County to buy them.. But regardless they are still against the laws to set them off in the Counties that have them banned.. or to even have them in the counties that have banned them.

Sort of. Along the interstate you can buy them, it's like a 5 minute drive to the nearest "discount fireworks" store from my town to the interstate place.
I think it's probably just over the county line.

Where I grew up they were illegal in the entire state. Had to drive a whole 2 hours to the next state to get ammunition for the neighborhood kids firework wars. Shooting bottle rockets and roman candles at each other.

I still find it kinda hilarious that the 4th of July is the day when the most pets are reported missing.

I'm still trying to figure out if they're running off, or the damned kids are exploding them.
