it is not really cheating if there is no penetration, right?

Not in modern times.

Mine cheated on me.

I felt that I owed it to her to be faithful while we were married. What I found out, was that my ex had mental issues I wasn't aware of. She said nothing to me about any of it. I put up with a lot of mental abuse she heaped on me. She chased off all of my friends, and I had to make friends with the people she chose to be around.

Their goal, was drinking on the weekends. Not my cup of tea, and we had a home to keep up. She insisted on being with them instead of me. I wasn't wanting to sit being ignored by her group on the weekends, so I stayed home. That was a mistake, but I knew the end was coming. She finally said "I want" so I let her go and started fixing me instead.

Old girlfriends, who I was married to, taught me one thing. All expected me to play by their rules. I decided no more, I get a say in my next relationship. So far, no takers. So I'll do without.

Why do men cheat?

Why shouldn't they?
Just because it hurts your/their partner's feelings?
What's one of those common things you read on profiles and in forums "those who mind don't matter, those who don't mind matter?"
Or maybe "if you can't handle me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best?"
All sorts of crap being posted all over which is basically "don't judge me for anything I do, just accept me and let me be me, and if you don't, then you're the a-hole."
How long have we idealized those that "march to their own drummer," or, "just do it!" or for people to "be themselves!"

Why should men who feel compelled, or desire, to cheat not cheat?
To protect a relationship? Keep it stable?
How exactly do long term relationships benefit society anymore?
There's been a huge push for multiculturalism, globalism, social mobility, population mobility, and diversity.
How does a static long term stable relationship fulfill those desired cultural/governmental goals/ideals?

What are the consequences to cheating? An end to a relationship?
Relationships don't really have any social/cultural relevance anymore.
The vast majority are for selfish gratification (friends first! get to know me! fwb!)
They're not necessary for the promotion of culture or protection of children. Thank compulsory schooling, television, and the internet for that.

Personal reputation? Being a "good" guy? Reputations don't matter.
Just go online and click/swipe on the next photo and you can meet someone that knows nothing about you and you can be whomever you wish.

So...why not cheat (if that's your bent)? To uphold some antiquated tradition?

I was looking to leave a job recently. I was looking up form resignation letters to use. There were all these articles detailing why you should always give 2 weeks notice, the consequences of not doing so.
At best the practice was called being "classy."
A couple of more recent articles took the other view. Saying it's an antiquated tradition that really has no relevance anymore. Especially with full employment, ubiquity of at will employment, the fact the majority of people entering the workforce are going to go through several careers in their life, and how more and more companies are shifting to project based employment.

The point is, why not cheat. There aren't really any benefits to not cheating. The consequences to cheating have been watered down to a point where they're really meaningless.

The only real reason to not cheat is the protection of identity, to avoid being labeled "cheater," and not hurt another persons feelings.
But we're teaching everyone they should never feel bad about themselves, accept who they are, and if someone else has a problem with another persons behavior it's their problem not the other persons (it's always someone else's fault e.g. "It is not anyone's fault but the one that cheats" said by those who don't cheat to create a group of people to judge).

Other than that, how are you looking at cheating?
Do you see it as someone pursuing their selfish gratification while attempting to mitigate all undesired consequences?
Or are you seeing it as a premeditated attack meant to cause some kind of harm on the person being cheated upon?

if you both cheat, why complain?

i really am quite bashful due to my low numbers and lack of practice.

otherwise, i may not have a problem "making bets with my girlfriends."

Well, that was depressing. Cheating is a way of life, then let them proudly proclaim so we know who to avoid.

men cheat ,because their partner ,remain with the only one style they have such as dress or hair style or even the way the talk ,or walk . men need to see his partner always on change ready for what is new to attract her man and the most of all is to make him as her friend and always drag his attention ,for nice moment at the each end of day .

A so-called "open" relationship isn't a real relationship.

it depends on the relationship. however, let's assume it is not equal to the "more serious" relationship of a legally binding social contract, termed and styled, marriage.

in my case, for example; i would hope the "wife" has permission and her guy is ok with having my text number so he can simply text me when he wants her back. there is No way, cheating can lead to more Happiness. Drama, yes; Happiness not so much.

Or, what about a hypothetical situation where a couple are not getting along for the moment and can swap "wives" for a weekend or so. Ideally, all partners involved can learn from the new situation and apply it when wifey gets back.

Why do women cheat?

they allege to want, equal pay for equal work; but, exploit their natural three to two advantage at every opportunity.
