If you could choose to stop aging(through technology) at whatever age you like, would you do so? Why? Or why not?

What i mean is, you would be young/old/kid whatever you like forever until you choose to kill yourself or by accident. Would you like to live a life like that?

No. What would you want to do with that much time. It is gonna be super boring. Somehow life has its limited time makes life is interesting.

this is like a reference for the "In time" movie where there's a technology where you can buy time to live forever. Good concept because we can certainly say that if ever that technology is possible, it will definitely not be cheap or free.

Absolutely not! Especially if it's just me. That's horrible. BTW, how do you kill yourself by accident...??? What's the point anyway? 80 or so years is enough for me

The way God has it set up, we live just long enough to get the general idea -then he separates those who "get it" from those who still don't -until they do. Therefore, living forever will be much better than it is now. We also get vastly improved bodies/powers and inhabit the universe. Gonna be sweet.

 That is a perfect question. Everybody should ask this, only if they think death is a bad thing. Years ago I asked this. I sat down and looked around me, the trash, the noise, the unhappiness in others, my own lack of luster. My answer was a very solid NO. OMG .. this was not the answer we "should say". As of that day, I said.. You sorry Loser, You have a Big Problem, You need to get your crap Together, Now. ... from then on, I make sure my-way-of-life is going in the direction ...of being Alive Forever... WHICH ..is "how the hell it is".. We can "believe" otherwise. SO ... enjoy crap-ville or enjoy LIFE. (with its wild ride).. I enjoyed reading the other responses.. (have fun) (smiles)

Alot of people will say yes without thinking the following.

You'll watch everyone you know grow old and die. You'll watch your children die. Your grandchildren, etc.
You'd have cut ties to everybody every 10-15 years before people become aware of your lobgevity. You'll be doomed to an extremely endless succession of short term temporary relationships.

On the other hand, that penny you found on the sidewalk will one day be worth a fortune.

Still NO...But here's why:

My conciousness exists and I am aware of time passage faster than a second at a time. Its why I see reality as a smooth progression of time while awake. I don't live a year, month, day, hour, minute or second at a time in chunks. I live in a smooth constant progression of time over a duration.

To me, a year is a long time. A decade is longer still and my lifetime very long at 62 years.

The human being currently lives no more than 100 years (with a few exceptions).
There are 10 periods of 100 years in 1,000 years (millenium).
There are 100 periods of 1,000 years in 100,000 years and 10 periods of 100,000 years in a million years.
Dinosaurs died out 65 million years ago.
There are 1,000 million periods of 1,000,000 years in 1,000,000,000 (Billion).
The Earth is appx 4.5 Billion years old (4,500,000,000) abd the Universe is appx 13.8 Billion years old (13,800,000,000).
Forever is infinity.

Who, in their right mind would choose to live forever when existing means you experience each moment as a duration?

That is insanity.

Sure. If we don't explore space (read: out of our immediate solar system) within our existing lifetimes, then put me down for a few more centuries.

No I wouldn’t want to live forever. It wouldn’t be right or fair and it makes room for someone else. Don’t want to be cursed like the HighLander.

No, I'd think I would be bored at some point and would wish to die. But I'd like to live 300 years.

Not the way things are headed, no thank you. The Dems have made it barely tolerable today with their trans this/trans that, criminals with more rights than victims, illegal immigrants with more rights than US citizens, their race baiting at absolutely everything, their reparations nonsense, etc. I can't imagine how it will be 5 yrs from now if they win in 2024. No thanks, I might even consider checking out sooner than necessary as most of the fun in life is being sucked away at an alarming rate.
