Every New Year's Eve my town has a dance and band outside, beneath the Cathedral steps. It is free, family friendly. It depends on how tired I am. I ought to take my flatmates Chilean guests as he is working.

I enjoy staying home watching tv, usually alone, and seeing in the New Year watching 'Jool's Annual Hootenanny' (Jools Holland and his Rhythm and Blues Orchestra) on BBC2 tv, and with a glass or two of the good stuff to welcome in the New Year.

I have no plans this year. I'm staying home, and don't mind either. I've gotten a real bad toothache and I fear another rootcanal awaits me right in the beginning of 2020. So I'm actually glad now I didn't book the spiritual centre I went to last NYE.

And yes, people still go out. Pubs and clubs are crammed on NYE, you have to buy tickets prior to NYE to even get in.

Random, sporadic gunfire.

Pretty much, just like any other night
of the week.

Not this year, I'm working at 5am the next morning. I'll be in bed by 9pm.
