There are terms for people that have gave up religion like "Lapsed. and Non Practising" can the same be used for Racists? Or do they have to fully switch over to being a non racist or former Racist? smokin

I like the term 'recovering racist', like they use for alcoholism and drugs.

I like you..flowers

You're all wrong. There is a middle ground, just so you know.

If you are born in this country YOU are a racist.
Racism is embedded in the very fiber of this country. The United States was built on racism, capitalism and blood.

Some statements are not just racism, but they are also combined with too much ignorance to be schooled in anything outside one's race.

It's just that other people judge and label you a racist when you truly are not.
Example...
I have nothing against people from other countries, religions, and so on. But I do not agree that they all should come here and drain our system.
That is NOT racist, yet many see it that way. But I have nothing against these people.

I don't want a relationship with someone from another race/culture/religion. Not because I have something against any of those, but because I know it doesn't work with me as it'd bring too many changes that I'm not willing to implement.
It's knowing who I am, what I need, what I stand for. Not racism. Yet many will see it that way when mentioned.

That's the problem with so called racism. It's gone too far. You cannot say anything anymore or you're a racist.

I have traveled the globe with my ex husband and realized that we are all just sacks of meat and bones, we are all humans

Racism is still with us. But it is up to us to prepare our children for what they have to meet, and, hopefully, we shall overcome.

I have an honest question. Is there a place on earth where "racism" does not exist? I said before, in a previous post that there is a "middle ground", it's called prejudice. Jessie Jackson said once that he was relieved to see someone behind him was white instead of black walking down a street in N.Y. That's my middle ground. Prejudice (Pre-Judging) and racism are not the same thing. Everyone is prejudice , few admit it.

Hey Rabbit, I created this thread a few months ago, and the input has been very interesting.. I think the answer to your question may be here, but for me a racist is a racist is a racist, but that's my personal view, no if buts or maybes, some people try to dress it up as something else, to me it can't be dressed up.. Yes there are people who pre judge an chit, but that's a totally different thang.. Maybe someone else has already enlightened you without you realising it here.. :)

No. You're wrong. When I go to a black neighborhood in N.Y. I am nervous. But I love a lot of black people ( I am a good portion black, despite what my photos look like). My grandfather had crosses burned in his yard for being a "mix". But.. it's natural to be prejudice, not o.k. to be racist... that's my only point.
