I would not say religion and spirituality is bad... we are in differnt times right now ... even though some religions say that ... their are people who think differnt and has nothing to do with their religion... people would like to have closeness with another ... most are like that ... and still believe ...

Its not religion .. its all of human culture. Name one famous polyamorous couple that was shown in a good light and not a bad light in all of human history, fictional or historical or other wise. I cant recall any, but there are plenty of myths, stories, and historical famous couples.

First of all Scientific studies and Religion are two different things..

Just because some believe it is okay to have several partners does not mean that, all those that do not believe in Religion believes that..

Myself I do not believe it is right, to have more then one partner..

It just sounds like a reason, some use to cheat..

Religion is not 'bad'. Its a belief system which builds social unity. Its actually very effective at maintaining social order. For people who need something to believe in and guidelines on how to live life, it is very effective.

I find it amusing how some people will come to a dating website and name religion as the reason why they can't get laid.
The reason why you can't get laid is because you are making the wrong choices for the results you expect. Its not religions fault. Its cause and effect.

Oh, just so you know, I don't follow any religion.

ALL religions preach monogamy???
I suppose you aren't counting the Islam as a religion? And Hinduism?

I believe Christian church began preaching monogamy for the sole reason they could use it to control people. They had to get people away from their ancient and proven Pagan believes and gods & goddesses, and the only way to do this was to force another religion upon them. Refusal meant death.

They also wanted to break the power of the feminine principle which was powerful among Pagans. Church was -and is- patriarchal and didn't like that.
With the new religion they threw together they had means to suppress women and turn them into inferior beings. That didn't go down too well at first so Catholic church gave the people Mary.
Monogamy was part of this entire game to control people.

I don't believe in monogamy as a forced way of living. I believe in the freedom to choose. And that does not mean you have to become polyamorous nor polygamous.
It has nothing to do with sex, but with love.

And be honest, who gives a toss if their neighbour -or whomever- sometimes has a loving moment with another than their partner? Not your circus, not your monkeys.

Religion is bad if it harms one’s relationship with God. The defense against such religion is easy: have a free mind.

Otherwise it is pretty civilized.

For me, my church has helped my relationship with God, though I am well aware there are the daemonic type out there. Don’t be deluded, but keep faith.

To summarize from the Bible, one should not worry about what their parents think of them, though they should take reasonable actions necessary to honor their wishes.

Having Multiple Husbands May Be a 'Wise Strategy' For Women, Claims Study
In certain societies, having multiple husbands can be an advantage for women in difficult times as they can buffer themselves against effects of the economy, finds an interesting research.
The study by University of California, Davis (UC Davis), challenges evolutionary-derived sexual stereotypes about men and women, finding that multiple spouses can be good for women too.
It is well known that men benefit reproductively from having multiple spouses, but the reasons why women might benefit from multiple marriages are not as clear.
Women, as a result of pregnancy and lactation, can't reproduce as fast as males.
"Our work (together with suggestions of others) suggests that marrying multiply may be a wise strategy for women where the necessities of life are hard, and where men's economic productivity and health can vary radically over their lifetime due to the challenging environmental conditions," said lead researcher Monique Borgerhoff Mulder from UC Davis professor of anthropology.

You will not find a conclusive answer, for their are religions that teach and practice polygamy and you should not believe every conclusion of science. It's best to practice as your religion advises or your society allows or is in your ability, I think.

people are funny, they study everything else but religion.

when someone dies, you trust a person like a priest someone that you dont know with those words.

It's like trusting someone to build a fence around your house.
would you trust someone you don't know to do it.
so i guess your life is not that important as you think.

that is sad, everyone must die at some point in thier lives, yet few come to him.
or understand what is happening.

Luke 13) 22 Then Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he made his way to Jerusalem. 23 Someone asked him, “Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?”

He said to them, 24 “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to.

25 Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’

“But he will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’

26 “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’

27 “But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from me, all you evildoers!’

religion is knowing 100 percent of the past and present and things to come.

to be a bible it has to have 100 percent, not 90 or 60.

Deuteronomy 28 64. And the Lord shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone. 65. And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the Lord shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:

Ezekiel 36 24. For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Another miracle is predicted for this extraordinary nation. Ezekiel predicts there will be a final great invasion launched against Israel. It will be led by a power to their extreme north, (Ezekiel 38 and 39). Against all odds, the nation has survived and won five wars that were intended to annihilate it. Seven day war.

so you see i already said what came 100 percent true.

Known as 7 day war
After one day of declaring itself a country, who atacked Israel. The armies of Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon are poised on the borders of Israel...to face the challenge, while standing behind us are the armies of Iraq, Algeria, Kuwait, Sudan and the whole Arab nation.

According to all the military analysts and pundits, it was to be a lopsided match. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) consisted of 275,000 troops, compared to the 456,000 soldiers of the combined Iraqi, Syrian, Jordanian and Egyptian armies. The united Arab forces also had a decided edge with regards to weaponry and military equipment: they boasted more than double the amount of tanks, and close to four times the amount of combat aircraft. The three-week period preceding the Six-Day War was one of dread, shock and fright for the residents of the Holy Land.

With close to two and a half million Jews living in the tiny country, it had the highest concentration of Jews since pre-Holocaust Eastern Europe. So pessimistic was the outlook that the nation’s cemeteries and national parks were marked to become gravesites for the many who would surely perish in the course of the war.

However, despite all the prognostications, by the time the war ended, the territory under Israeli control had tripled in size. Jews returned to sites where their ancestors had lived for thousands of years, sites from which waves of terror were launched against them for so many years. The casualties and losses were painful, but minimal in comparison to all projections. The Jewish nation was miraculously victorious in the face of unbelievable odds.

there is so many bible prophesies fulfilled there. just like in Noahs day people dont care. until its too late.

Hello Preacher, Can you explain what you wrote about [Deut 28:64]?

sure first off you stated You will not find a conclusive answer, for their are religions that teach and practice polygamy and you should not believe every conclusion of science. It's best to practice as your religion advises or your society allows or is in your ability, I think.

You are correct, lets say someone in world war 2 at the front lines saw all his buddies killed. then he came back how that would affect him deeply. so he can only go so far on religion, someone that never saw that can go deeper.
still what happens if you been recuted by the military and put there!

that is what i think different levels for different people.
could be wrong. but yeah tdion you know what your talking about.

Deut 28:64
this is back when isreal lost thier nation, as bible prophecy said it would happen,

Their sons and daughters would be given to another people as captives, they would serve other gods, wood and stone, by force, convenience, and also by deception.
They will have sickness and disease and will essentially be scattered all over the earth by their enemies.

While in all of these nations, they will find no ease. The biggest hammer of the curses is that the Israelites will be put on ships and carted into captivity or bondage (Egypt) as male and female slaves (bondsmen and women), with no one or nation buying them out of their situation. ( this happened for 2000 years) then more bible prophecy came thier nation was claimed again, after world war happened

it happened as a scientist was making a rifle for the military, cause they had problems with guns firing too much smoke and not loading, while he solved the problem, and in return i think England at that time said what can we do for a favour for you. in return the scientist said Israel gets formed as a nation. this again was bible prophecy and fact. and is real was formed

that is what i heard from hal lindsey, he is really good on the stuff.
