We have those days occasionally when it all seems very hard. Thankfully they are not often.
What is your self talk to keep it real?
Me, I do the grateful list and remember I am loved and look towards my goals that I am achieving slowly.
When you are having a bad day,how do you cope?

when i have a bad day or i feel my emotional energy gets low i will do

something that will cheer up my inner child....we all have a natural child in

us, it's the most beautiful part of us...our feelings come from the child....

My cats always feel, when I have a bad day. They either come for cuddles or do something weird to make me laugh :cat:

Yes, cats are very sensitive that way, aren't they. The come to comfort, but cats also absorb negative energy. The energy they need to thrive is the energy that is not healthy for us.
With dogs this is not the case, they require the same energy we do.

I have different 'tools'. I don't often have an entire bad hairday. Moments yes.
Depending on what feels best, it's some...
-Abraham Hicks or
-Joe Dispenza, or
- a meditation to get into the heart. Or...
- a focus wheel. This can work really fast!

I didn't know that dogs need the same energy, us humans need. But it is an interesting thought.

everytime i'm having a bad day i'm telling my self that everything will be fine and it will never last. Everything is temporary and later on I will be fine. Sometimes its how we see things that makes them bad. Like in my work, if i have lots of patients I might have a bad day if i will think that i will be busy for the next 12 hours. But if I will tell myself that I will have a lot to learn for the next 12 hours everything will change..my mood, my level of stress and the people around me. Mmmm..its just my opinion. Everyone has its own coping mechanism and this is how i manage mine :)

I cannot afford to have bad days..that stockpile
diminishes daily.

Only days where I have to remind myself..this is
the journey, no joy without sorrow first,
for...comparison.

Some people get a lot of comparisons in life
and might not see them for what they are.

The blocks in your path are meant to be leapt over,
some choose to walk slowly around them, some stop
altogether, unable to get past. Some even retreat.

Life is a game..if you want to win you have to
give more time to learning..anticipating what
is to come. Tucking away in your mental attic
all the pain and respect due hardship.

Then leave yourself open to tomorrow. Smell the
roses, smile for yourself alone, wring some
pleasure from the moment, not because there
might be few left, but because you are alive.

That can be enough.

Lots of good advice in this thread. My method is to simply think of the good things, count my blessings, and find the silver lining. When something gets you down its usually because you focused on some trivial event(s) that in your mind made everything seem bad.

For example, you get laid off from your job. To many people that is a disaster. Even more so if you have been there a long time. But its really an opportunity in disguise. You can probably get a better job, one you will like better and which may pay more or have better benefits and be more convenient. If you hadn't been pushed out of your old job you might never have found that great new one.

Or if a friend dies, moves away, turns against you... it can be hard. If you suffer a financial loss or a serious illness, it can be a trial. This is because we cling to things, both good and bad. We cling to people, possessions, places and ideas. We even cling to our pain instead of letting it go. Pain, emotional or physical, makes you a victim and deserving of sympathy so it can be hard to let it go even if its over. We think health and life are forever but they aren't, better things lie in wait.

Then there is the herbal or medicinal route. I have found that st johns wort, an herb you can buy many places, is great for perking up the mood. Its not a stimulant, it simply makes you feel better. One cap helps, 2 help even more, its good stuff. For serious depression there are other things but st john's is good for run of the mill sadness and so on.

How do I keep strong?

Yes, even I have moments of doubt, and hesitation.
But, in those moments, I recall, that I have survived
every schitty little thing life has thrown at me.

My advice to you, or anyone else?
Remember, that you too, survived everything
that has come your way.

We are all the sons and daughters of survivors. We can't control what the world does to us but we can spit in its eye.

So true Larsi. I go to see my step mother every night just to visit and watch TV with her. Her kitties are all over me cause they know I bring them a treat. I may go there in a bad mood or down in the dump feeling but when I leave all I can remember is how lovable the kitties were.

Music. I put on the headphones and crank it up, drown out my thoughts
and by the time I’m done, I’ve over it. Works pretty much every time.

No seriously, I know you all think I'ma fun in with you. But lifting weights and running ( especially outdoors) keeps me sane......well at least I think so lol

I walk every single day.. Whether it be sun, rain, snow, wind, or just plain cold. It clears my mind. I don't play on my phone while walking, or listen to music.. I just walk and breathe in the outdoor fresh air. Thoughts I'm thinking become more clear, and anything that seemed like it was overwhelming, doesn't seem so much so any longer.

We have those days occasionally when it all seems very hard.

I don't. At least not mentally. Not anymore.
I do have bad health days but that's physical, not mental and no amount of mental discipline can cure physical pain and nausea.

I have days where my coordination or dexterity is compromised from lack of sleep resulting from bad health. I merely adjust my activities for those days and don't concern myself with that fact.
