Many people on dating sites list humour as a preference in an ideal mate ..

But is laughter enough to get you a date ... or perhaps magically make your clothes fall off biggrin

No....

Women say they like a sense of humor, but they want the Chads and the other unobtainable dudes.

Funny guys get friend zoned

I think so but most likely in a group setting rather than one on one. If you're killing it in a group setting there's almost a leader/alpha quality to it where you're commanding everyone's attention. On a one on one situation hearing "you're so funny" is like hearing "i just put you right in the friend zone".

have to agree with you Bob .. humour has a role in attraction and developing a connection , but its relevance depends on other factors waving

not necessarily Devo .. Humour is subjective . I am sure you are aware that when a woman likes a man .. she may laugh at his hunour and tell him he is funny
.. even when he is not particularly funny . it is like a form of flattery . Can at times be hard to distinguish especially online with out all the other cues that happen in person . waving

I think Devo is unto something with the alpha thing.... as long as the dude is a Chad
He's also bang on with the "you're funny" is secret code for "not getting MY coochie"

I see what your saying but it is obvious by the way a woman tells you you're funny as to what their thinking by their body language. You know if you're in or out on the spot. As far as online goes there's no way to tell what the hell people are thinking. At least for me.

I've had women feel so good from humor they feel close to me and do want me in bed.
Especially my gf right now, who gets so cheerful around me she can't keep her hands off me.
The women I have had relationships with simply adore me (including my X).
Yes, laughter will and does cause a woman to want intimacy up to and including sex.
If your results are less than positive, perhaps yer doing it wrong?

A good sense of humor is definitely a big plus in anyone, and more so in a partner. I, personally value it highly! However, I have known people who can be humorous but fail to appreciate the other person's humor! This can really create problems. Also where, intentionally, or otherwise sarcasm is blended with humor, things can turn bad!

All said, a good sense of humor is something I appreciate a lot.

There is the expression to 'Laugh your socks off' so maybe it's true, " perhaps magically make your clothes fall off. " laugh

The only thing that’ll get me in bed is if we’re both truly in love and married.

I agree with you Tom. Laughing together creates intimacy, especially when they have made you laugh so hard and you are both laughing till you both cry. It is raw and real and creates a great connection. I do think there has to be chemistry first though.

it would depend on other qualities,

but consider meeting someone with no sense of humor....

For me a sense of humor is a requsite, but only one, of a few others.

Also, doesen't the laughter start after the clothes magically fall off?
