Joe Biden’s stance on this abortion issue is purely disgusting, for him to not denounce the immoral acts going on with the pro abortionists protesting at the doorsteps of our scotus justices is the same as encouraging illegal acts. It is against the law to picket any justice to influence their verdict. We’ve seen the sick demonstrations of these baby killin bastards portraying and ranting about killing babys. For all of these folks that have their head in the sand and don’t understand what overturning Row vs. Wade would mean is the states would be controlling abortions. Most states would limit the number of weeks that you could have a abortion. States like calf. Will probably have no limits on abortions , allowing abortion up till full term. Some would be less time and some would be longer times. Why can’t Joe and the rest of his party tell the truth to the people and maybe we wouldn’t be so partisan to each other. Instead he makes a comment that this will be the end to same sex marriages and many other things these gay folks believe in. That is a total lie and he knows it. Talk about dis-information. But maybe this is all for not … with the shortage of baby formula maybe this is Biden’s way of filling in the gap if R vs.W is overturned, by starving the baby’s.

Yup, all women should have no control at all over their own bodies, and should be kept bare-foot and pregnant as often as possible.

It seems like the timing of this "draft" by the supreme court would strongly favor the Democrats more that the Republicans. Polls show that about 65% support some form of abortion rights. These nut cases that are stalking the justice's at their homes need to be prosecuted, however they are nothing compared to the nut cases that stalk the clinics and doctors. Anytime the government threatens to take away any rights of the people it's a bad thing, this is no different, just a power trip of a few power hungry politicians. Most hangers are now made of plastic, most abortions take place early on using a pill, to make it very difficult for millions of women to seek treatment while others would have relatively easy access doesn't seem right, there are already barriers for many. Look at the numbers, look what people are doing and what they want.

You might be aware that I'm in no way, shape, or form for 99% of the liberal lunacy going on in this country today. HOWEVER, I've always felt the Republicans shouldn't go down this abortion road. Politically, I think there is no upside whatsoever when all could have been left well enough alone.

We had November in the bag, easily. We still do but this won't help one bit. Quite the opposite. Republicans will still do well in November but, damn, it was a slam dunk prior to this. Biden had NOTHING to sell, a complete failure in every single area. Now this they can exploit to great effect and "us" saying "yeah, but all it does is go to the state" just isn't a very good rebuttal in my opinion. Grrrrr....

...Anytime the government threatens to take away any rights of the people it's a bad thing...

It is good to read this. We all should be caring about the rights of the most vulnerable people in society. This particularly includes, of course, the unborn, who deserve the choice to live.

Decades ago, feminists had a favourite phrase for men: "if they don't want a child, they should keep it in their pants." Equality is a ***** but the same works the other way: "if they don't want a child, they should keep their legs crossed." That is the point of choice, not later when the life of someone else is at stake.

There are several different types of contraceptives readily available for anyone to buy AND use. But with free no limit abortions being performed, I guess for some it’s easier to worry about the consequences later than being responsible.

How about not murdering as a method of birth control. That would be a novel idea dontcha think?

I imagine it's mostly liberals that want abortions legal and easy. Get rid of them and this and a host of other problems will be greatly lessened. And you wouldn't be getting rid of innocents either.

But we should really just be living Christian lives and let things shake out as they will I suppose. Still I really am tired of watching things degrade into insanity before my eyes. How long should good men do nothing ? It used to be said if you don't like something on TV or whatever then don't watch it. If you don't like certain groups don't hang around them and so on. Today you can't watch anything or go anywhere without being insulted or disrespected by people and their actions, that is if you're decent, if your trash then you're in your element. Give an inch and Satan and his are ready to take a mile and you with it if you relent. That's how I see it.

I understand what you’re saying but I don’t think it’s that cut and dried, if you listen to what the dems are pushing for by allowing abortions at full term. Abortions because your baby is not the gender you want. Abortions if their has been some abnormalities detected with the child. Where would it end. Let the people have the power to decide by putting it back in the states authority.

are they free contraceptives Bart waving accessible to everyone … or could cost ,access and education represent potential barriers.?
Would you like to comment about teenage pregnancies .., pregnancies associated with family violence or drug /alcohol addiction ..failed birth control .. or perhaps a pregnancy with a new diagnosis of cancer (where treatment is harmful to the foetus). Do you feel you have any right or entitlement to be making moral judgements in such situations ?

Let me guess the political agenda ..,
make America great by discriminating against women and their right to autonomy .. .. sounds very much like regression and oppression . .. I thought the days of slavery were abolished in your country

@dougla waving Douglas .. would you like to comment about women whose legs are forced apart during rape or violence . pitchfork

I have as much right to make any judgement I want. As much as you or as much as this president who is making a moral judgement himself, it’s only that his judgement aligns with your so I shouldn’t have that right. Is that your stance? But in case you didn’t read what I have said was their are cases where abortion should be allowed. My gripe is that people shouldn’t base their choice on” well I already have a son so I’ll abort this one and try for a girl. Or to wait till 8 months in and decide “ no I changed my mind so I’ll abort. That goes against human nature in my book but some have no principles. And I’m not poining any of this at you.

There seems to be a significant misunderstanding of SCOTUS and abortion! SCOTUS is not deciding if abortions should be legal or not but if the US constitution protects the right to have an abortion or if government has the right to pass regulations about abortions. As I understand, the original basis for Roe was based on the concept of privacy guaranteed by the constitution making the choice of getting an abortion a decision between the woman and her doctor without government interference.

The real question comes down to that personal privacy vs government's right to invade your privacy and when or for what purpose by which level of government. We currently allow even local units of government to invade our privacy in certain ways supposedly under the guise of "for the public good".

When does the constitutional protections of privacy override the government's "for the public good"?

Yes I can see you added that comment further down in the discussion . There will always be conflict around what is deemed a viable life .. some believe that happens the minute conception takes place and they are entitled to that belief . Science has a different view . Moral conflict and distress are not easy to legislate .There is more than one type of harm to be considered .

i didn’t ADD anything it was there originally and in my past comments. .. Do you believe it’s fair if as you said some science believes life starts at conception is it fair to both mother and baby to abort because it may not be the “ right” gender? Or maybe that baby could be autistic? I hope we never go there.

I think you misunderstood ., I stated “viable life” (there is a difference ) and the distinction. was between what individuals believe compared with science . Hope that makes sense .

You got a lot of brass accusing me of discrimination against women or oppression. This is why civil discussions can not be had. Read and understand what people actually say and mean instead of narrowing it down to the simplest terms that you think someone is saying because their politics don’t align with yours.
