My only remaining long-time bestie bought 2 lottery tickets on 2 different consecutive days 2 weeks ago and BOTH of them hit - for $2,000 & $1,000.
I told him I thought he should share some of that luck of his and give me all the winnings, minus the cost of the 2 tickets. I can't understand why he raised an eyebrow at the suggestion, after all, to give is divine and giving always brings the giver more joy than the recipient - or so I've repeatedly heard from the churchy-types. Maybe I should have dragged him into a nearby church before making the suggestion? |

Crystal mentioned starting her new painting in the locked previous iteration of this saga.
As a long-time visual arts museum fanboy, one of my favorite artists of all time is Hieronymus Bosch. I have a 50-year overdue hardcover library book from a former city & I keep it in a cupboard right up alongside squatter #2 (half-bath room) so I can look at the glossy full-color plates in it quite frequently. The Garden of Earthly Delights is something I'd love to have hanging in my home so I could see it multiple times a day. There's also a 19th? century oil hanging in the Milwaukee museum by the lake. It shows a woman working a ledge garden deep in a very steep & narrow shadowed Tyrolean? alpine canyon with the sun starting to peek over the towering mountainside to bring her garden its few hours of light & her being illuminated by the stab of the sun's first rays down on her little ledge. Likely a German/Austrian artist, given The Cream City's immigration history. I've plotted for DECADES how to pull off a heist to gain custody of that painting. Never would though, because it would deprive others of its soul-searing beauty. I'd trade almost anything to have a lick of true talent. β’When I was a musician I could play anything flawlessly from score & then memory. I could never learn to jam or improvise. β’I can handle the written & spoken English language with the skill of a top surgeon, but have failed dozens of attempts to get past the 1st paragraph on writing a novel. β’When I was in school for Architecture I tried my hand at freehand drawing. Can't draw a straight line or a recognizable image of anything even if I had a noose around my neck & a gun pointed at my head. I am extremely jealous of my youngest who CREATES true art with the flick of a few fingers. Each of us is gifted in our own ways. Lawdy, I would trade my born intelligence for even a smattering of ANY kind of artistic talent. Alas, I am doomed to be an admirer, not a generator. My eternal gratitude to those who do make art & bring so much joy/sadness/amazement/beauty/wordless moments into my heart. |

I've been blessed with a few "talents" that I'm pretty thrilled about..
I'm not a Grammy award singer but can carry a tune pretty well.. my parents used to have me don a pretty dress and sing for company.. but I could never get how to play an instrument, no matter how hard I tried..
I danced on stage for many years.. seemingly the envy of most and usually complimented by African Americans as having "Rhythm & Soul" as good as them.. and actually won a "rock'n roll dance" contest with a friend I'd never danced with before that evening.. then I got hit by a car in '99 sadly, and life changed I can create a large scale hand painted mural from a ity-bity picture.. I had painted a bunch of cartoon characters on my youngest's wall when she was a baby, they delighted her.. prior to and after that, I've left my imprint on many a wall.. including where I currently live.. I used to paint on canvas back in grade school.. even sold 1 of my works for $50.. back then it was a LOT of money for a 9 year old.. I used to sew clothes for my kids and made my own patterns for that purpose.. plus I can sew a full set of sheets w/pillow cases.. bed skirts and bed canopy's, curtains, duvet covers and pillow shams.. plus a whole lot more.. plus I've re-upholstered furniture.. all simply using fabrics and measurements.. I knit and have made blankets for all my g-babies and my kids, plus some for myself.. all sizes and colors.. I can build furniture and anything really using scrap lumber and my imagination.. from a hand drawn drafted design to a completed project.. anything that involves working with my hands and imagination.. I can pretty much do.. all this without any formal training.. so I guess I have a knack for creativity.. plus my dad used to say "you can do ANYthing you put your mind to".. that doesn't take from the fact I draw of lot of inspiration from musuems, antiques, home reno & restoration shows and even magazines.. I simply add my own personal flair to anything I do.. sorry ol'coot.. I guess I was ahead of you in the creativity line up and took what should have gone to you

Calls the FBI...
Their response: Too bad she's Canadian & we're at war with them or we'd award her the Congressional Medal of Freedom. We will however, invite her to Davos in 2027 to give a seminar on how to steal talents professionally. It sounds like she could become THE leading ex-spurt in the field & help the 0.001% increase their portfolios significantly. Thank you, Mr. Hyatt, for the information. Your country owes you a great debt. Sincerely; Kashcard Patel Director of the FBI |

Thinking... the days go by so fast?!
And yeah, I'm having fun, painting again, and doing some other things here and there. But before I know it the day's over again and it's time for bed. Again. Which is what I'm going to do now, bed & sleep. It's gone 1 and I'm tired & sleepy. |

Thinking... what the hell is wrong with the boards?
I saw on the main board that Zee had posted in a topic but when I checked my post was the last, not Zee's? Then I click "reply", scroll down, and there's Zee's post? Then I type a reply and it doesn't show up either? We need Zee's magick wand again, haha. I got one too, a hawthorn wand, but haven't used it in some time so it could be a tad rusty. Goddess knows what happens if I use it!? The entire board might disappear up its own @$$, lol. |
