I found a great video that goes very indepth into scientology. It makes a lot of great points and you can tell that they did a lot of research on the subject. It's short and I suggest everyone watches it for their own enlightenment.

First and foremost...no, they aren't. They give his famous "make a religion" quote, which was made in front of a science fiction writers convention.

All of the stuff about Xenu, Thetans, etc? That's what they believe. That's not SciFi to them, it's their religion.

No there is not, there are alot of writings but no "bible" per say. They accept most belief systems and schools of thought, they are very non-dgomatic. And are not a 5013c recognized church in the US. It takes a long time to be recognized as a "religion" in our government.

I'm not going to deny that there are alot of radicals in this, due to the "freedom" of it, however the basis and foundation are solid. It is what each "group" decided to do with it.

Read "The Shadowy Story Behind Scientology's Tax-Exempt Status" here: http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~dst/Cowen/essays/nytimes.html

Scientology was able to intimidate the IRS into giving them tax exempt status. This article is very worth reading, the thing I learned is that if I have problems with the IRS, all I need to do is dig up dirt on the head of the IRS and/or his family.

Wow, way too much to absorb. Why do people even waste their time with this cr*p.

I say this, do what you want, but keep it away from me and my family.

I just want to live, and dont feel I need the power of "any" religion to do so. JMO

Bullsh*t.

You must be a scientology, because you are either lying or wrong. You know for a fact that I can't read any of the books with information about Xenu or thetans, because the freaking church of scientology has sued anyone who has gotten the information. They call it church secrets and protect them with teams of lawyers. It can cost 250,000 dollars to read OTIII, which is where they start teaching about Xenu and all of that other alien BS. I'm done with this subject, not worth my time.

But let me say this...if you are a scientologist. When you have spent all your money and put incredible effort into the task and you finally become an OTIII...you will read "Revolt in the Stars" and find out that you are supposed to believe in an alien named Xenu and a bunch of alien thetans.

Wow, this stuff is unreal..An alien? A Xenu?...Are you serious?

The New York Times did the research, you can read it for yourself. Something tells me you will claim that they are "out to get" Scientology. I am your SP.

Scientoldy is a joke, I am 36 years old and just recently heard of it

So it is not a "true" religion in my thoughts..

One of those made up BS deals for someone to try and make money off poor people that need something to believe in...

That is Sad

What is a Xenu? Alien?

Sounds like a board game if you ask me

Scientology: Anatomy of a Frightening Cult

by Eugene H. Methvin

In the late 1940s, pulp writer L. Ron Hubbard declared, "Writing for a penny a word is ridiculous. If a man really wants to make a million dollars, the best way would be to start his own religion."

Hubbard *did* start his own 'religion,' calling it the "Church of Scientology," and it has grown into an enterprise today grossing an estimated $100 million a year worldwide. His churches have paid him a percentage of their gross, usually ten percent, and stashed untold riches away in bank accounts in Switzerland and elsewhere under his and his wife's control. Surrounded by aides who cater to his every whim, he reportedly lives on church-owned property, formerly a resort, in Southern California.

Xenu was an evil galactic overlord who kidnapped millions of aliens and stacked them into volcanos on earth. He then blew up the aliens with atomic bombs. When the alien spirits fled their destroyed bodies, Xenu used "soul suckers" to vacuum up all of the souls and then he put them into special movie theaters where the souls, called Thetans, were brainwashed into believing in Jesus, Mohammad, Buddha, etc. They were then released from the movie theaters and now they attach themselves to humans, causing us to believe in various religions. A scientologist works to clear him/herself of Thetans, so that he/she will be "clear". Then they will gain all sorts of magical powers.

You can watch an episode of South Park that details some of the true beliefs of scientologists.

http://www.scientomogy.com/southpark_scientology.php

Scientology has sued several groups for talking about Xenu, etc, because they claim it to be confidential church information.
