I read over and over again about how people say they are shy and don't like to e-mail first or are afraid of rejection in general. Why join a dating site? Can I ask why the shy ones are afraid of being rejected by someone they do not even know.... and not even in person?

But I never get any where so I have just givin up altogether on sending out emails to woman because they never hardy respond to me. Failure to perservere is also known as being a quitter. Being defeatist won't get you anywhere, and woman surely find it one of the ultimate turn-offs. Get some confidence. |

what irritates me is someone that will stare at me all night long and never speak a word to me. why not send a drink over to the guy??? either that or I just stare back at them and flirt across the bar

read about shy people as a personality type!
a lot of people ARE shy. for introverts, it is not natural or easy to initiate conversation sometimes although many shy people do open up and enjoy interaction once it has started. i think that some who say this are trying to let others who read their profile know that they tend to be a little shy in the hope that the reader may take the initiative and contact them first if they find them attractive and interesting... |

Back to Shy? Do you really think it's all about rejection? Personnally I find it very hard to go to a person, and just start a conversation weather it's a beautiful women tring to get a date or just meeting a women at a store(not thinking of a date)just to start a conversation? what i have learned about shy, is that in alot of cases shy means 'self-absorbed'...which, of course, also has roots the past. |

O.K. Here I go,Hope it makes scents to you.please underlook miss-spell words. I feel that I'm a shy/quiet person.Also a plain/simple person.As a only child,my best friend was my dog.I never fit in at school,I was married for 12 yrs and have 5 sons and my family are my best friends.Yes,I did get out in the world[didn't work out]In person,I just don't know what to say to people,for alot of them has gone places and done things that I could only dream of.I can talk to you on the computer because you can't see me.Sometimes,I'll look at a person's profile more than once,before I ask them to be my friend,cause I'm afraid they will say no and the ones that do say yes,I'm luckly if I hear from them.You are right,Low-Self Esteem,what do you do for it?It is hard to let my walls down,for some reason,sometime always go wrong.I hope I didn't bore you all to bad.
