Going back to the opening post and leaving out the religion, I agree that making money from money is what it is, usary, and is wrong.

Howard Zinn was not a lover of the powerful who gained their wealth by the gun and stealth. He championed civil rights and took the blows. Howard Zinn , a man who experienced both sides oof the track. R.I.P

For investment purposes Islamic financial institutions employ criteria similar to those used by the ethical investment funds. The big difference comes in the way they structure lending transactions, both for personal finance and business purposes. In simple terms, lenders enter into risk-sharing contracts with borrowers; return is based on the outcome of the venture or investment, rather than a predetermined rate.

Muslim economists have argued for tempering the market mechanism with regulations designed to embody the public interest. According to them, in designing all policy, the primary consideration should be justice and equity rather than laissez faire market operations.

Muslim jurists have argued the case for limits on land ownership and strict application of inheritance laws to avoid concentration of wealth. Some radical Muslim jurists have also argued that land is a communal resource and ownership is confined to period of active use rather than perpetual. Again, mineral and other natural resources are regarded as communal property.

Islamic socialism ?

Very hard to argue against justice and equity and all minerals and resources are natural, not man made, so we are all entitled to our share.
take up a Shovel and dig up your Share then!laugh
But don't dig where I developed!

You probably had insider information and a Gun.

Blaming one man for the woes of a country is so old hat.

"The American system is the most ingenious system of control in world history. With a country so rich in natural resources, talent and labour power the system can afford to distribute just enough wealth to just enough people to limit discontent to a troublesome minority. It is a country so powerful, so big, so pleasing to so many of its' citizens that it can afford to give freedom of dissent to the small number who are not pleased. There is no system of control with more openings, apertures, flexibilities, rewards for the chosen.

[...] There is none that disperses its' control more complexly through the voting system, the work situation, the church, the family, the school, the mass media - none more successful in mollifying opposition with reforms, isolating people from one another, creating patriotic loyalty." Howard Zinn, from 'A People's History of the United States,' first published 1981

Is England better then America ?

No,they are as bad as America as far as foreign policy goes but we are not as brainwashed as most Americans are.
since you believe Zinn, that point would be arguable!laugh

Zinn was speaking only of America.

did anyone of u read about Islam mm idont think so .l.first u have to read then u can talk or write or do what ever you want ..for me i cant talk about any religion except my religion Islam ...so educate your self then come and talk about Islamic shariah low
That would be asking quite a lot. The thread is in relation to finance within Sraria Law but most posters it seems wish to thrash the religion.

Under Shariah Islamic law, making money from money, such as charging interest, is usury and therefore not permitted. Wealth should be generated only through legitimate trade and investment in assets. But investment in companies involved with alcohol, gambling, tobacco and pornography is strictly off limits.

"At the heart of the great religions, including Islam, are the common themes of helping the less fortunate, being responsible stewards of the natural world, and demonstrating values in our daily work. I am encouraged to think that these ideals can permeate Islamic banking at its best

Whom are you kidding?

Might be true if Muslims are involved, but where it concerns the Infidels, all bets are off!
Anything goes!

Anything goes in the west because our best and brightest are above the law. Too big and too bright to fail. Greed is good, the legacy of Regan and Thatcher.

Thought I might do some reading-up on Chechnya and the links to the Boston Bombings. The first thing I encountered was ACPC (American Committee for peace in Chechnya. Some very interesting names in there. Richard Perle,Elliott Abrams,Midge Decter(Donald Rumsfelds Bioographer),Frank Gaffney,Michael Leeden,James Woolsey to name a few.
